I found my dress at Norde Bridal! I really enjoyed my first bridal fitting where Erin asked important questions like "What is your budget?" and "What style of dress are your looking for?". She listened so well that the first dress she got me to try on was the dress for me. I can't wait to finalize the look to make it be mine. Thank you!
I loved this bridal shop! I purchased my dress somewhere else, but needed a place to get it altered. It was a full lace dress, with beads and boning, so I wanted to make sure I went somewhere experienced with wedding dresses -- and the Handmade Bride was that place! The designer there hand makes dresses and isn't intimidated by any fabrics or embellishments. I had three fittings to make sure that everything was perfect and fit exactly how I wanted. She was very focused on making sure I was comfortable and happy with the look and feel. The end result was a dress that looked as though it was made for me! I am so happy I chose this shop to have my alterations done and would highly recommend to everyone!
Gorgeous designer dresses and the quickest, most efficient service ever. I needed a completely new dress just 3 ! weeks before my wedding and Meagan the owner went out of her way to make it happen! The dress itself was incredibly comfortable and beautiful, and fit perfectly due to Robyn's expert alterations. They even got a matching lace veil made for me in the very short timeline with the same lace as my dress. Highly recommend this place!
If you are looking for one-of-a-kind beautiful wedding gowns and a wonderful experience choosing your dress then look no further, you will love The Handmade Bride. Walking into this boutique is like walking straight into a dream, everything is just so unique and pretty. Meaghan, the owner, is a lovely woman who is clearly passionate about what she does and went above and beyond to make sure my dress looked perfect, even though she only had a few weeks to do so it was a very last minute elopement. The Handmade Bride offers dresses for all budgets and styles, from classic to alternative,and carries independent Canadian designers, which I loved. I definitely recommend this place!
I cannot say enough good things about the Handmade Bride. The customer service is amazing, the staff were patient, friendly, helpful and so creative, great at coming up with unique and beautiful combinations. I had been to three other wedding boutiques in Ottawa and hadn't found anything that spoke to me, but I loved EVERY dress I tried on here, and was able to find the one. I recommend every bride start and hopefully end here.
A charming, expert wedding dress shop that will go the extra mile for you and focus on what's important - you being happy, gorgeous and comfortable when you marry your best friend! I've been working with them to get my hands on my dream dress and they've been super helpful. These guys are experts and love what they do- I went to a workshop here on wedding planning/photography/dress shopping that was excellent - so it's a great way to hook up with other good services in Ottawa too!
I was quite unhappy today. I made an appointment over a week ago and showed up on time with my bridal party. The bridesmaid dress colour possibilities were more limited than anticipated. The dresses themselves were even more limited in that there was only one option a jersey dress sold in the store, but with three different lengths available. I was told that each dress could be worn different ways depending on preference. The dress was rather expensive given how basic it was - no embellishment or detail of any kind, and it was way too casual for a formal wedding. When I politely mentioned the latter point, my consultant became rather rude and defensive and the whole thing just went downhill from there. I was so looking forward to that appointment I flew in from Vancouver for today's shopping because my friends live in Ottawa, and I walked away feeling disappointed and frustrated. If I had known there was basically one dress option, I would never have made this appointment. And based on how we were treated today, I won't be back to look for my own dress either.
This is a fabulous salon to include in your bridal gown search. Their gowns are beautiful and unique, their accessories are amazing especially the sashes/belts & clutches, and the consultants are incredibly helpful & lovely. I didn't get my dress here, but I truly enjoyed my two appointments.
I purchased my wedding dress from Meaghan Brunetti, the owner of Norde Bridal, Ottawa, formerly known as The Handmade Bride. The dress is truly beautiful, thanks to the designer, Anais Anette of Toronto. However, Meaghan has not honoured her quotation for alterations. She has made the following excuses: a change in seamstress, a quote means nothing Meaghan’s own words and we are the most expensive such shop in Ottawa as if that were relevant. Meaghan said that she wanted us to be happy clients, but was not willing to honour the original quotation or even accept that we offered to double the original quote and meet us half-way. Our sense was that, once a dress is paid in full, the staff lost interest in us and service was very poor; we were made to feel that we were bothering her. Additional alterations were needed, due to Meaghan’s recommendation on our first visit of ordering one size up. I thought that buying a wedding dress and having it properly fitted would be one of the highlights of my wedding preparations. Instead, it turned into a very stressful and disappointing experience and we have had to turn to a private dressmaker a month before the wedding for alterations at, we should mention, a very reasonable cost. Several of my family members and friends are getting married over the next couple of years; I am afraid I cannot recommend that they use Norde for their wedding dresses. Summary: a nightmare experience, instead of a dream come true. We expected more from the owner of such a well-known bridal shop.
Most cool and different place right in the heart of New Edi, Ottawa. Made an appointment in advance. Meghan was super, in every respect, and had prepared for my visit. Tried on most unique and different dresses, some available in other colors if you are bridesmaid or mother of... No rushing, easy to try on, and total enjoyable experience . Would highly recommend this unique boutique for bridal, prom or other special occasion dresses.
