Holy Toledo!! I discovered Gladstone Brewery and Guerrilla Pizza next door 2 weeks ago. I've returned twice since then. What amazing pizza : ) I'm entertaining my British family and they were also very impressed. These folks have traveled the world and Uncle Brian was amazed to find excellent strong 7% beer at Gladstone and the best pizza he had ever tasted at Guerrilla. I'm glad that the pizza impressed as I showed off the Comox Valley to out of towners..

I've never been a fan of frozen food. It wasn't until I heard rave reviews of Guerrilla Food Company from several neighbours that I even bothered to step in the door and pepper Jason with skeptical questions. Now, I'm a regular customer. The food I've taken home from Guerrilla is some of the very best in the Comox valley. I doubt I'll ever find a butternut squash soup as flavourful and fresh-tasting as theirs and the mushroom pie is a rich, gourmet delight. Recently, I tried their roast beef dinner, quite certain a yorkshire pudding couldn't survive being frozen, then reheated, but I trust the chef here and I trust the word of Jason, who serves me at the front desk. The whole meal was delicious and that yorkshire pudding couldn't have been puffier or crisper. Jason has done extensive research to find the safest containers for storing and heating food and explained at length all he has learned. He's happy to talk about the farming practices followed by his local sources and his commitment to choosing the freshest and most healthy ingredients is impressive. Apart from great-tasting food, well presented and tasting home-ccoked, there are other treats that accompany my patronage of this little treasure on 5th Street: -the heating instructions are clear. -the portions are generous. -the prices are fair, even modest -the service is friendly and informative -the containers can be returned for recycling. I'm heading out now to 534 5th Street to stock my daughter's freezer, as a surprise homecoming gift. Thank you, chef and staff of Guerrilla. Sincerely, Judith MacKay
