Ever since I moved here 7 months ago, I've visited the Apple Tree Market. The workers are cool, except for one. The owner either doesn't like young people, or has no basic understanding of customer service. I pay for a thing, but apparently I can't ask for specific change. Most, if not all places I've been to is fine with this. But, he tells me "We're not a bank" and that "We need that change!" Uh, right... You're not a bank. Guess what place helps in getting you rolls of change? A BANK! If you can't handle the demands of a customer, then you're either un-prepared in terms of change, or you're just a grump. Not to mention, every time I've come in with Grumble Bum working, I don't get a friendly hello. I get a "Whaddya need?" in a snarky tone, like I'm fairly un-welcome. Which is too bad, because this kind of attitude is what lost him a customer. I wanted to come back here, since it's 5 minutes away from my house. But, Petro Can, 7/11, and any other store has given me proper customer service. I might stop by, but if he is working there... I don't think I'd rather bother with bad customer service again. And, I know that not giving change isn't policy. How do I know? Every younger worker there was *more* than happy to help me out, as a paying customer. This is a policy that isn't store wide it seems. The young worker the other day seemed genuinely confused about the man's reaction. I don't blame him. This isn't how you make good customer service. This is how you lose customers who like your store. Customers like me.
