The Glen Bar & Grill

My uncle and aunt took us here as they told us it was pretty good. Hmmm "Pretty good?" It is definitely not "pretty good" the whole dining experience was amazing. The service was outstanding, with kind attention, clarification and correction, where the kitchen was out. The meal itself was the best I have ever eaten. I have no idea how they got the meat that tender and that flavoursome, but some how they did. There were tasty surprises all the way through, with an apple reduction that took me to an orchard while I was eating the pork. I will be back, and I will enjoy again.

Stunning exoerience from start to finish. This restaurant could compete with the top restaurants in Dublin. Staff were so good but the food was just outstanding. 60 euro each for a set menu is excellent value. Favourite dishes were the bacon/cabbage/fermented potato bread, tuna carpaccio and the lime dessert. Will go back as there are so many more dishes we want to try.

The pub is warm and friendly, and you can enjoy a Guinness or explore the excellent gin selection there. However, you really have to go to the restaurant, because in this amazing pub is a restaurant that serves a delightful multi-course meal. Try to get an earlier reservation so you don’t miss out on the specials - that being said, everything is delicious and you can’t go wrong. Make sure to come hungry as there is plenty of food to go around. The meats are all perfectly prepared. The duck special in particular was incredibly flavorful with just the right amount of sweetness and a delightfully crispy skin. Every other course and all of the amuse-bouches in between had something similarly interesting and unique to offer, without ever straying too far from their classic foundations. This is Irish food at its proper best.

Absolutely fantastic place to have a drink and a meal. Food was fabulous. Service was great. Could have let us wait a little longer get between courses. Would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a 5* meal.

Omg...... It was so fortunate to call into this pub at lunch time today for a drink whilst driving the Wild Atlantic Way Donegal and ask if they had a table for this evening to be told yes Undoubtedly the best meal we have ever had.. The service was excellent and the surroundings are just fantastic.... From the Olde worlde pub dating back to 1700 s to the new restaurant out the back. I cannot say enough good things about this place. To win Georgina Campbell award for Best Pub of the year 2021 is no surprise.

From outside this looks like a quaint little pub but what a great place to eat. The food was some of the best I have tasted, ever ! Every course was amazing and all the little extras brought to your table before and between courses were so tasty . Staff were all lovely and service was spot on, definitely the place to go in Donegal .

I had the best meal I've ever eaten here. Out of this world; each course was divine. The salmon and hazelnut in particular *chefs kiss* Friendly but relaxed service, and I particularly like the contrast of the quaint trad pub with the modern dining room. Counting down the days until I can get back.

Fantastic, fresh, artisan irish food. The outdoor garden is a great addition to the Glen, a place with an already amazing interior in the old pub and restaurant. We got the peppered mackerel salad, huge portion! Very fresh and refreshing in the heatwave. Service was very good, the waitress was lovely and very attentive. You have to try their olde glen 250 year old gin! My partner got the chorizo and chicken sourdough sandwich, beautiful also. We will be back for sure.

Wow. What an experience ciaran Sweeney has brought to this place. Food is absutely top notch, some of the best I have ever had. Restauraunt itself is very relaxed and easy going but you cannot say the same about the food.
