The Frontier Restaurant

Service was great, however we were definitely not impressed by the prime rib buffet. The food in the serving line was not fresh looking nor was anyone attempting to make it look fresh. At one point I stirred the sausage and peppers to at least make it look like it was refreshed. We started with salad and found there was no ranch, we asked but it never got refilled. The cream of turkey was good once it was salted. The cod in caper cream sauce was dried out, sauce tasted good but had to stir it to get under the skin that had formed. Yorkshire pudding that was so hard, it was impossible to cut into. Prime Rib was over done and there were no other options. The desserts were very sad, there was a pie that looked like someone had taken a fork and eaten directly out of the pie pan, miniature eclairs that had an extremely weird textured filling, and bundt cake that was also looking in a sad state. Needless to say, I was disappointed overall, I had a great expectation for this, but I really believe I could have gone to a Golden Corral and gotten the same thing for much less, but at least fresher food because they tend to the food.

Very disappointing, the restaurant itself is very nice, good music playing in the background, great views, but that's all. The server we had was nice enough but not focused on quality service. Our food choices were good but the food itself was not, soup came out luke warm, bread rolls hard and stall tasting, salad looking & tasting old, & entries that were cold and tasteless, could not eat. When the Hostess came by to ask how everything was we very nicely relayed the above, her comment "Oh I'm sorry" and walked away. At least the server was a bit nicer about the issue, and offered a drink from the bar or dessert on her, but we declined, it was lunch we were interested in. Well, we tried this place but will not go back and not recommend. Oh yes, this was at lunch time and only three other tables being served, how can they get this so wrong?????

I am rating the Christmas Day Buffet: The food is just like the entire facility itself in dire need of updating. The food tasted and looked like it was sitting out for hours on end without being freshened up and the serving areas looked the part with crusted up serving spoons and messes around the chafing dishes. The french toast was hard. The blintzes though from sitting out so long. The ham was watery in the middle ... I could go on. The desert buffet was the worst of all. All uninspired dishes "Christmased-up" with sprinkles on every dish. The trifle looked sad and messy. The staff was not engaged. Neither at the tables nor by the buffet. Once we received our first round of sodas we had no chance for re-order on those either. Just glad we did not opt for coffee. All in all too expensive for what it was. It has potential for sure, but as it was there will be no repeat for my family.

Stopped in for drinks. Very slow bartender, not friendly at all. We did not eat here.

Beautiful views of the lake, great service and ambience. NY strip was over cooked. Enjoyed our time here.
