So damn good. Service and food were absolutely amazing. Buffalo cauliflower bites & Meatloaf with veggies and mashed potatoes....soo yummy Fresh veggies not frozen and real potatoes not fake stuff!!! I will be back! Thank you
Did not get what we ordered and the ribs were completely dried out and burnt. I went with my familiy of 5 and wanted to try everything so we got the $125 platter. This was supposed to come with brisket, side ribs, sausage, pulled pork, bacon steak, chicken wings, some veggies, fries, beans and cole slaw. They did not give us any chicken wings or bacon steak. The ribs were so overcooked and dry that we could only get a few bites out of the whole rack. See images of burnt ribs remaiing on our plates because we could not eat them. The brisket was very fatty, but ok. The sausage was fine. The pulled pork was not very flavourful, and it was just really dried out. Half way through our meal, I asked if we would be getting the wings and bacon steak. The waitress said she would ask the kitchen. She came back a few minutes later and said we got extra sausage and they were out of bacon steak. This is the kind of thing a customer should be told when ordering a $125 plate. She said they were out of bacon steak but would give us double wings now instead of no wings if I had not asked. The vegies were about 1/2 a carrot and 1/4 a zucchini. These were not bad, but given the volume of food should have come with more. The fries were quite good, as were the beans. The cole slaw was not what we had expected creamy and not vinegery and nobody liked it or ate it after one bite. The chicken wings were cooked, and just salted and peppered, there did not seam to be any other seasoning. They were well cooked, but did not have any flavour other than that of chicken and a bit of pepper. I note that they sell their BBQ sauce, and I thought that we would get a chance to try it and maybe buy a bottle to take home, but even with all the meat we ordered, I don't think there was any BBQ sauce. Everything was dry and if it had BBQ sauce, it was burned onto the ribs. Everyone was underwhelmed and felt like the restaurant was basically trying to rip us off by not giving us 1/3 of the meats that were ordered. In the end, we filled up on the fries, sausage, pulled pork and beans for $150. There were a lot of fries. Even without the rip-off, the food and service would have only received 2 stars, because I don't usually give 1 star reviews unless something is terribly terribly wrong.
Brisket was decent. Kids burgers were good. Be aware that they charge extra for everything! For example. We ordered a $27 brisket with baked potato. Sour cream and chives were each $1. Skip the 1/2 rack rib addition definitely not worth the $10.75. Poutine was served mildly warm and by the time it came to is the fries were soggy. 2 adults, 3 children cost us $135 with a 15% gratuity. Life in a tourist mountain town!
Great find in Golden. Passing through during our BC driving tour and saw good reviews for this place. Staff were friendly and checked on us often, and we didnt have to wait long for our meal. Brisket was tender and tasty as well as the sausage. Cornbread was moist and went well with the meal. Potato was good too. Overall a nice find here in Golden and wed definitely come back again.
Arrived here after a long day of driving through Jasper and Banff national parks. The staff: VERY slow to get us seated. We waited at the "Please wait to be seated" sign for probably 5 minutes before someone noticed us, and probably 3 more minutes to be seated. It was not crowded at all, almost empty actually, so no idea what took so long. The atmosphere: The restaurant appeared to be clean, and you could tell because it was pretty empty. It is just a typical grill type restaurant, nothing special. You have to go through several doors and down a hallway to use the bathroom, which was weird. They played some light pop over the speakers, it was not bad. The food: Nothing special at all. Very average, and that is probably generous. I got the "Ultimate Fire Pit Burger" that was anything but ultimate, Imagine 1.5 burgers from Red Robin, or 1.25 Whataburgers and that was the size. I am a very average guy and finished it in 15 minutes, all the fries and fixings that came with it, 1/4 rack of ribs very small, some cornbread, 2 cups of water, and some of my girlfriends smoked meat which she said was ok and which I thought was much too dry. Summary: This was the most expensive meal I have eaten in Canada, and it was one of the most mediocre given the price. If I knew what I do now, I would have gone elsewhere for a good meal. While the food was average and OK, the service left much to be desired and the price was not worth it. One last thing, they offered to take my photo before I had even eaten the burger which I declined. Not exactly an ultimate burger.
Safe and clean for ur enjoyment. Located on a side road next to the highway. They offer indoor and outdoor sitting or the take out option. Good portions for a fair price. Friendly staff, a couple of TVs. I will stop in again next time in the area.
A very nice pub to try in Golden. This platter is awesome, great price, great service. My family loves the food, shared the platter for 7 people. Highly recommend.
The best smoked pulled pork I have ever tasted. If your girlfriend is into salad no problem they serve salad too. And you have to get the yam fries.... absolutely delicious ; Service is great and very friendly. Best prize value around here. Next time again.
My wife and I stopped here for lunch on our way through town. Service was prompt and friendly and the food was very good. I had the brisket bun and my wife had the pulled pork. Both were delicious. Would definitely go again.
Food is horrible Ordered a spicy chicken wings and they over fried or over smoked the wings , poured half bottle tabasco sauce in the serving bowl with the wings and served it. Later I complained that the wings are way too hard to chew , they said it's their speciality . The fries were horrible and hard. Paid way too much for food that couldn't be chewed .
