"A restaurant is only a good as the staff working there.... This said, The Dugout is the Best! I have an amazing crew who continually go over and above to make your experience a great one. We strive to give you the best service in town and take pride in knowing the meats that are served are fresh from the local butcher - Bibs Meats - and cooked in house! We never use processed cheese or frozen breads or French fries. All of our salads and sandwiches are made to order so feel free to get picky. We are also know as the home of a Full glass of wine! Hope to see you there!"

For our first time experience, this was truly a gem. The staff were very friendly and courteous. The food everyone ordered was over the top with taste, portion size and presentation. If your looking for a restaurant for a quick bite or terrific dinner, this is it. Should you want to stop for just a beverage there is lots of sports on several TV screens. Comfy and cozy and a must for your next stop
My husband and I were looking for a quick lunch in East end of Belleville today and decided to try the Dugout. Service was very fast and efficient. It was about 2:30 in the afternoon so it wasn't very busy and there was no wait to get in. I had the 8 oz strip loin steak with a baked potato and chef salad and my husband had the third base burger. My husband said that his Burger was very good and even though the fries were of the frozen variety, they were not bad. My steak was just a tad overcooked, but was still edible. The baked potato was huge as was the chef salad. We also shared the deep fried curd appetizer and that was fantastic! It was a huge order for only $10. Overall, for the price it was a good meal and I would go again and try something else on the menu. I have heard that the Montreal smoked meat sandwich is good.
The Dugout is our go to restaurant, my family and I go there all the time. The food is always hot, fresh and delicious, the staff are friendly and helpful and even on their busiest days there is only a short wait for service. My mom and I were just there today and was told the wait was about 15 minutes. 10 minutes later we're being shown to a table. Our drink order was taken right away and we ordered the lunch special fish and chips. It seemed like only minutes and our food was brought out, it was hot, fresh and delicious! They have amazing desserts as well. we were too full from lunch! If you're looking for a place to eat, definitely try The Dugout. You won't be disappointed.
This place is always great! Family run, great food, fast team service, fair prices, they know their lane with the menu. They truly are stellar. Absolutely our “go to” spot in Belleville. It is so well run, they should offer clinics. Thanks Dugout!
Have eaten here many times. The service is always friendly, fast and great. The food is reasonably priced, and excellent every time. You never leave hungry. Only place I've ever been where you order a glass of wine, they pour at your table, filling it right to the rim! Fantastic!
We had a better experience before but unfortunately this one is worth mentioning.. It was extremely busy in there and our server took our order, without writing it down. The order came mixed up and it took her 3/4 of the meal to casually walk by us asking as she’s now behind me, “how is everything?” I told her my wings weren’t well done and she paused. Then said, “want new ones?” I said no thanks, she said okay and walked away. We didn’t see her the rest of the meal. We go to the bar to pay our bill, and ask if the wings were taken off. The lady behind the bar said yes and asked what happened. We told her, she asked if I wanted them to make new ones I said no thanks we’re leaving now. That was it. Neither one of those ladies decided to apologize for the mix up, or take ownership. We felt like we were wasting their time. I don’t want free, just what I ordered or a simple sorry for the mix up?
First of all this is not the first time we have had a terribly waitress. First she lied to our faces saying the frozen ice machine wasn’t working then I asked for white wine she never asked which kind she just came back with a bottle and stared to pour it I asked what she was pouring and she made no comment, then she slammed our food down never saw her again till she came with the bill. Never asked if we wanted another drink or how was the food nothing. Talked to the owner Jennifer she said nothing was wrong with the ice machine . All she said was sorry, after I told her what happened Well any good place would have said it’s on use or here is a voucher for next time. When you are going out for a special meal prime beef you expect good service. When you don’t have good waitresses then don’t open the dinning area. I am very and I mean very disappointed in the service and the way we were treated.
Place was packed even more so with some nice weather. Drinks are always cold, wine is well poured and the wings are fantabulous. The staff help each other out with drink and food orders, Jen runs a good show. Last minute decision to eat out. Greeted and sat outside at our request. Pati looked after our table and was fabulous. Friendly and attentive. Both had clubs and fries. Great comfort food. Reasonable pricing. Extensive menu. Thanks Pat for fun dinner.
really love the fish and chips.....wings not the best.......the desserts are the worse....we ordered spice cake and what showed up was steamed pudding like consistency all dark brown and unspiced. and pricey....the service is always excellent.....but take off the desserts or make them yourselves....price afforeable....atmosphere good
