I thought the food was okay overall. The chicken Alfredo had a little too much liquid, but it was still flavourful. Their menu has a lot of options, and you can't really go wrong with anything.

The place can get loud, but that’s part of the local pub charm!nnFood was good, no complaints. Service as expected. Was a nice outing overall.

We were seated in the patio at the back of the restaurant, which is spacious and nice surroundings.  Not many people during lunch time.   It is shady and doesn't feel that hot.nnFor the food, fish and chips were not good with the platter too thick, and the fish was not too fresh.  Ruben and Burger were quite good.nnThe servers were very helpful and softened the not so good taste of food, which, in the end, is fundamental important.

The weather was amazing today — a high of 26°C — so the family wanted to enjoy a meal on a patio. In my opinion, Duchess has the best patio in Markham. The restaurant was extremely busy today, which is understandable, but this was the worst service I’ve ever experienced there.nnThey have a “seat yourself” policy, which is fine, but after sitting down we waited nearly 10 minutes just to get menus. Don’t take drink orders if the kitchen is backed up without giving customers a heads-up first — we would’ve simply left.nnWe waited almost 35 minutes for our food, which honestly would’ve been fine since we were enjoying the weather and atmosphere, but the attitude from staff made the experience frustrating. The food itself was mediocre, and the service was awful. We couldn’t even get a beer refill. By the time the waitress finally checked on us and asked if everything was okay, our food was basically finished. If she had come by 20 minutes earlier, we could’ve at least asked for more dip — which the kitchen was already surprisingly stingy with.nnI’m not sure if there’s new ownership, but it was never like this before. The service and staff felt very disorganized. Unfortunately, we won’t be returning and would rather support another local business.nnThat said, if you don’t mind mediocre food and poor service, the patio at the back really is fantastic. It just wasn’t worth it for us.

Met some friends upstairs for Wing Night.nWings were delicious and the wedge fries are great. Tried to get ketchup but the staff were too crazy busy.nThe two waitresses upstairs never stopped running to serve the customers the whole time we were there.nI know it's a pub... but the volume of noise made it very difficult to have a conversation. It was a relief when a dish smashed on the floor, it quieted down for a while.nWe are planning to come back to try the burgers for lunch
