The DownLow Chicken Shack

Chicken either in the sandwich or the one served separately is perfectly cooked and flavored. Sandwich comes with their in-house coleslaw, sauce, and the bun tends to hold them pretty well along with the big chicken piece. I had the lemon pepper sandwich, which can be served with either a breast or leg meat, and it was not too hot. I tried the jerk chicken with the fries, and it was hot but very good, though. The size of the sandwich is good, and it would suggest getting the fries only if a couple of people are willing to share them. They have a small seating in the restaurant and outside, and I would suggest to try having the food over there as the food might suffer if you try to hold it for long carry-out. Vegetarian options: It's a chicken shack, and the only vegetarian option is the fries.

Downlow Chicken Shack probably holds the best chicken sandwich I've had so far! I went for The Lemon Pepper and it was amazing! The pickled red onions and jalapeño honey mayo definitely completes the sandwich! They give you an option of breast meat or leg meat for the chicken and that's a great feature. We also got the tenders and fries with some DL sauce and it was pretty good! The fries were pretty flavorful. Their original tenders are pretty good by themselves too. Would DEFINITELY come back to this place if I ever visit van again.

Delicious chicken sandwich with layers of flavor and satisfying chicken. Suggestions for ordering: ask for light sauce as I've gotten too much sauce both times I've ordered and it causes the bun to get soggy almost immediately. Also skip the fries unless you're sharing as the chicken sandwich is very large and filling. Fries are pretty good, although not as good as waffle fries from Frying Pan.

Been here more than a few times and always have a great experience from the staff to the food. I ordered the large tender combo and as usual it was great. I’ve had Hattie B’s in Nashville and this is just as good. They also gave me 3 sauces for the tenders which was perfect. Couldn’t had a other one but I like sauce with my tenders. They’re own DL sauce is incredible

Visited this place 2 weeks ago It’s mostly crowded throughout the year They have quite a selection of fried chicken and fried chicken sandwiches. Lot of spice options to choose from. I have tried their Chicken Thigh / Fried chicken Burger with Jerk spice. Spice levels are good. Quality of chicken is great. Highly Recommend this place if you are chicken lover. Very Limited indoor seating. They have outdoor seating as well

So good. Went on a Tuesday afternoon, no line up at all. However, I hear it can be busy and you should expect to wait in line. Ordered the original Sando with the Mac salad. Can choose between white or brown meat. I chose thunder as my heat level, honestly wasn’t spicy more Peppery than anything. Portions are decent size but not too much. Fries are also really good.

This place is honestly to die for. I usually dine in but today I got take out during work and it was just as amazing. Definitely god sent, every ingredient in this burger makes it unforgettable. I can’t think of a better chicken place! Also their customer service is above and beyond amazing. All their staff are so kind and put the customer first. Nothing but the best things to say about them!!

I've been coming to down low chicken for so long yet I'm only getting to a review now. Every other time I came the food was annihilated before I had time to take a picture! Firstly, the chicken is crispy and juicy, perfectly fried. The pickles are different here, I usually hate pickles but I loved these, the flavor left a nice refreshing taste after the bite of fried chicken! The fries on the down low are super worth the upgrade they add pickles, pickled onion, coleslaw, sauce and chicken to the fries. It's super addicting. Come in hungry and order up and you won't be disappointed!

Tasty fried chicken on commercial drive! Made fresh so I placed an order online and was notified of my pick up time. Online ordering was super quick and easy. I got two medium spicy boneless thighs for two people. Total was $9.90 and it was quite well portioned. Good crunch and yummy pickles.

Is it a hidden gem? Or maybe I’m out of touch. These are the best chicken thighs I have ever eaten. I like that it serves with pickles, but I’m not a big fan of the bread, maybe it’s for absorbing all the chicken goodness at the bottom, I just saved them for my wife, I saved her a piece of chicken too, so I’m not a total jerk. LOL.
