Edit: was back on Friday for their apple fritter. It's on on the sweeter side but delicious Donuts are delicious, fresh and they have a great selection of new flavors as well as classics. And the cheese pull a part bread was also so good. I will definitely be back
The wife insisted on driving to Crossfield to pick up some donuts from the Donut Man since people seem to be raving about them. The drive was long, but at least the storefront had parking. Love the area as it shouts small town charm. There were a lot of people getting donuts from here. Took a bit of time from entry to receiving our donuts. That's not a deficiency, but a plus. This is because they topped and coated their donuts fresh as you order instead of ready-made, waiting to be sold. Thus, when you bite into one of their donuts, you get a freshmade flavor. It's akin to eating fresh fried fries instead of fries sitting in the warmer. There is a remarkable difference between the Donut Man's process and his competition. I now know why people rave about their donuts and so many are willing to make the drive out. If you haven't already made the trip out, it's worth a visit. From the variety of donuts picked out by my wife, they are all delicious. Go with the flavor you would normally like.
We decided to stop here instead of the classic ...windmill.. stop between Calgary and Edmonton. What a cute little area! The donut options are great! Not too many that you're overwhelmed with choice and the place smells amazing. Everything looked good, but we picked 6 and were on our way. We basically decided we were going to move there as soon as we got back in the car. Crossfield is an up and coming gem.
My cousin brought me here saying these are amazing donuts and she did not disappoint. These are very delicious donuts. Lots of selection. Kind staff and a very nice setup. Very much a delight. Just so hard to choose one, so get 12 or more.
Amazing donuts! Usually a long wait on Saturday 30 to 45 mins, so prepare for that or call ahead Worth the wait though. They are still warm in the box when I pick them up! I love to try all different flavours but tend to love the plain ones, like the maple or powered sugar the best! Very reasonably priced and it’s a nice little road trip for some great eats and drinks! The iced coffee with sugar free caramel is life!
We walked in on a Sunday at 2:30 and were second in line, more came in behind us. There were some sold out flavors but we could see them restocking, baking fresh all day. The prices were clear, and the front counter staff were organized - one took our order for 1/2 dozen donuts, another took the box once noted and packed which sped things up, we were in and out in five minutes. Had we done drinks it probably would have taken longer to prepare. I do love how they’re sharing their space supporting other local businesses as well. The donuts themselves are DELICIOUS! We’ve had fresh from the store, fresh delivered, and had some last a day or two and were still yummy a day later.
I have to say in all honesty, this place is pretty disappointing. I saw many posts about it online, and it got me excited. I made the trip out to get them, and did not expect to pay $35 + tip for donuts. The donuts themselves, while having fun flavours, were quite boring. They tasted like regular donuts.. would not be able to tell the difference between these and a tim hortons donut. If you’re in the area might as well try one, but don’t make the trip out just because you saw it online. Way overhyped. The lady at cash was nice though, and very knowledgeable which was pleasant.
Got a chance to stop by Crossfield and got myself half dozen of donuts. The donuts are so good. I hope I got a dozen. They got lots of flavor to choose from, they also have coffee choices and even ice cream for the hot summer days. A must visit when you are in that area.
Literally the best donuts in all of Western Canada, and service that cannot be beat. This lovely small town donut shop created custom logo'd donuts for our event, and they were so perfectly done - and scrumptious. Our event attendees raved, and begged to know where they were made. If you want to make a splash at your next corporate event, these donuts are worth every penny and the drive in to Crossfield and back out. The quality and freshness, and generous amounts of filling simply can't be beat. #bavariancremeforthewin #salesmeetings #clientimpressed
We took the drive up to Crossfield to try these donuts after much anticipation. I can tell you they do not disappoint! The staff are very kind and helpful. There are so many donut flavours to try and new fritters every Friday I think we just became regulars! Thank you Donut Man and amazing staff keep up the great work!!
