Imagine paying over $5000/yr in taxes to find your driveway completely blocked by snow from the city plows, with no accountability by this embarrassment of a city! I feel bad for the seniors/disabled that have to spend money out of their pocket to have snow removal companies maintain their driveways since this horrible city couldn’t care less!
Orillia wanting to take land from Oro and Severn, they can't look after what they have. The city is ran like a drunks lemonade stand... The murf 38 million over budget .. rotary place 3 million in repairs ... anyone living in the area getting legionairs. The whole staff need replacing at orillia they are useless from the ceo on down. The recreation department is the biggest joke around town with the murf. They built a 24 million dollar library that's used by the homeless more than the residents. One of the worst ran cities in Ontario what a joke. The city is so far in debt they want tax money from severn and oro.
We are local housing developers and the City of Orillia has been very accommodating in assisting us with creating local units. They are easy to communicate with, have various departments coordinated into our project and certainly have the communities best interest in mind. They understand the need for housing and are helping us help Orillia create homes!
Stopped by for a bite to eat on the waterfront and immediately accosted by municipal officers who demanded payment for standing there. Did the same to families with kids in the water. We left and went across the bay, where we had a lovely lunch on the water. Hint: this is not how you generate tourism revenue.
I love the town itself, but as Tyler said above if you want to get a taxi at pretty much any time of the day, you're always looking at a minimum of a 45 minute wait because the owner of Able Taxi is on the town council and continues to ban Uber from the city. THIS IS SO #@$&#$@ STUPID!!!! LET UBER IN THE CITY ALREADY SO WE CAN GET TO PLACES AT REASONABLE TIMES!!!!!!!!
Don’t park downtown no adequate parking meter signage and they ticket you immediately …..@#$&*
Clean and picturesque town by the water. Central location relative to Toronto and Simcoe-Muskoka. Cute and friendly shops. Great spots to eat. Developing city.
This once reputable city has changed drastically over the past 20 years, As has every city but Orillia has taken on a whole new meaning to disgrace. It seems everyone from the residents all the way up to members of city hall have given up trying to make this city great again. And come this summer I will have too as I have chosen to uproot my family and wave good bye to this once beautiful city.
You wanna promote not drinking and driving in the city? Uber is banned and when I call a taxi, they say over 90 minute wait. That's a good city? Mind boggling and extremly disappointing. If the cab companies can't keep up with demand then you better allow uber because someone needs to keep drunk drivers off the roads. Insanely disappointed.
Clean, bright and lots of smiles on the different faces of the staff around the building. Always knowledgeable staff to help you with just about everything.
