The CDL School Inc - Albany

Awesome school! Ed Mike and Rich are great instructors! Keep your ears open and you will learn! The yard has a few pot holes put if u can learn to offside back and parallel park there u can any where so take it to your advantage!

I had a great experience at this school. Instructors and staff were very helpfull. Special thanks to Ed and Steve. Possitive, encouraging, great guys to learn from. They were very professional and showed a genuine concern in giving the correct training and knowledge I needed to get my cdl.

This place is overpriced and horrible. Pothole filled training area with broken vehicles and overcrowded training sessions. They will claim you got 8 hours driving time but in reality it is a hour and a half and 6 and a half hours in the vehicle while other students drive. Mike and Rich are good teachers one on one but they can only do so much with this terrible curriculum and broken down vehicles and training area. Ed doesn't do anything. The people who set up schedules call you at the last minute and are unorganized and difficult to work with. I learned nothing here. I got more in 6 hours of private lessons then u got my whole time in this school. Don't waste your money. Get private lessons from Rich or Mike. Anything else is a waste of time and money.

I am currently attending this school and I will have to agree with some of these reviews. Mike is a good instructor. Ed is just about useless. All he ever really does is sit on his cell phone and smoke. What he does go over is inconsistent with how he taught to begin with. Spend most of the time doing back maneuvers instead of stick time. Not going ro complain about the training area because thay os the least of your worries. Went on a ride a long with one of his regular students. While his student repeatedly grinded about every gear it has, was speeding more than 10 miles an hour over the speed limit on numerous occasions, didn't use turn signals, Ed just sat over in the passenger seat and played on his phone wothout the student being corrected. The student also failed his road test. I am supposed to take my road test in a week and have only been behind the wheel 3 times for a total of three hours, mainly because Rich has called in for 3 days in a row and nobody can get an old of Steve to come in and help. Had I seen some of these reviews up here before I came to this school I would have looked elsewhere. I am here on VA benefits as well and thinking about notifying the VA about this as well. You can't be expected to pass a road test to get your CDL if you spend no time on the road.
