I've read so many bad reviews over here, but in my experience everything has been great. I'm very happy to be part of the community, there's a great atmosphere, library is great, food is good and very cheap, so much variety in terms of student clubs, sports, ethnicities, extracurricular activities. I'm loving this place so far... and yes it's tough.. final weeks are the busiest.

I wish that I could give a 0 star rating. Hudson Valley Community College tore apart my dreams. I am in love with attending school, taking classes, and learning. I worked insanely hard so that I could go back to school, and when I finally got there, I looked forward to attending my classes. I'd come home super excited to share what I learned each day with family and friends. I even joined an athletic team for the first time in my life. It was a dream come true, and it was all that I ever wanted. But everything changed when I met the student who wound up sexually assaulting me after I very clearly stated "No" several times. The school put me through a horrible trial process where I had to listen to the boy who raped me lie, and change his story several times. I was laughed at by a coordinator of the process when I asked if during an actual judicial process I could submit myself to a lie detector test. I don't see what was so funny about it. The school did absolutely nothing about it and is allowing the boy who raped me back on campus without any penalty. Not even counseling. I don't feel safe as a student of a school that is going to let another student force themselves on me after I have outright said no, and I certainly don't want to give them any more of my money out of pocket if they aren't going to protect me or let me finish the rest of my degree in peace. I have withdrawn from my classes, requested my money back, and am seeking to continue my education elsewhere. I am a determined, passionate, intelligent student and HVCC lost that. Go right ahead and keep your rapist student who uses your campus as a hunting ground rather than a place to learn. Anyone who plans on attending this school, just know that the boy who raped me is allowed back on campus and was shown by this school that there is no repercussion to forcing himself onto another student. Be weary of other students, and I pray that you're able to work towards your dreams without having them completely derailed by someone who doesn't understand what the word "No" means, or a school that doesn't understand it either. Don't even try to respond to me with your regurgitated "Providing a safe environment for our students is a top priority" nonsense. You can copy and paste it over and over again, but you didn't provide a safe environment for me. You put me through hell. I cry every single day because of how much I love school but had to let it go so that I could feel safe. It shatters my heart over and over again, but I will pick up the pieces and I will go on to do great things with my life. Just not as one of your students.

Students drive like jerks and are perfectly happy to cut you off and act like you were worse than Hitler for not letting them in or knowing that all lanes belonged to them. Clearly turn signals are for loses as those that go to Community College now communicate through telepathy.
