Story

Don’t worry, the ‘spirit’ of F’Coffee is alive and well at The Cannonball. Rob just changed the name. Why? After 9 years in the neighbourhood, we still have great coffee but we also have beer, and ‘the best sandwich of all time’ (parliament street news) made to order to your preference and breakfast bagels and fresh baked stuff. The music is great (especially in the summer on the back patio, sometimes it’s live). Long story short, there’s more here going on than coffee.

Where did the name come from?

Sunlight Park was Toronto’s first baseball stadium, it was located just a short walk from our back patio. Ed 'The Cannonball' Crane was a pitcher and outfielder for the Toronto Maple Leafs Baseball Club. In 1887 (our building was about 10 years old) He led the Maple Leafs to their first International League Pennant, setting an all-time record with 33 wins). On one Saturday that year he pitched and won both games of a double header as well as hitting the winning home run in the second game.
Ed played this out in Sunlight Park.

We wanted to pay tribute to the man, and the heritage of our fine neighbourhood of Riverside.

Great spot for a breakfast or lunch sandwich. I'm addicted to the smoked salmon & cream cheese bagel. Coffee is incredible too, and a nice patio to sit on in the summer. People working there are super friendly and chill, definitely recommend!
Great place for a quiet coffee in a unique setting
Literally the best breakfast sandwich ever. Tastes homemade and super fresh however I can never make them as good when I try myself. Highly recommend!
My go to sandwich and coffee place in the area. Sandiwches are made to order and coffees and decent too. They use the Blackbird bread which is great! Cute patio in the back too.
A wonderful, warm, and cozy coffee-bar, a true hidden gem on Toronto’s east side. The staff were friendly and easygoing. i highly recommend!
The coziest. Good food, good coffee, good beers. Your backyard patio is the best patio on the east side. I love you forever.
The atmosphere and customer service is so unpleasant. The owner of this establishment is unfriendly and appears to not want customers judging by the way he treats them. Try smiling and saying hello, to start. There as so many other places to eat in the area that are friendlier and nicer to give your business too.
One of my favourite coffee joints in the city. Great community atmosphere and beer on tap! Patio is gorgeous in summertime too. Highly recommend.
Love this place! Best bagel breakfast sandwiches I've found in the city at such a great price. Great atmosphere, great staff.
Toronto's best kept secret. Always full, but never crowded. Virtually hipster free! they all prefer Dark Horse, across the street this place is a spot for locals.....the best coffee on the street and EXCELLENT sandwiches. Seriously, so excellent. And the prices!? They're practically giving it away. Dope spot.
