The gardens are absolutely beautiful. Breathtaking at times. It took us about 2 hours to admire the flowers and walk through. It was interesting to read the history of the gardens on the plaques. Admission may seem a bit expensive but it’s worth the price and you factor in how much maintenance the gardens require. Bathrooms are adequately situated throughout the gardens. There is also a nice ice-cream spot at the end. It was delicious.
This was an amazing experience! If someone told me I'd enjoy a big garden as much as I did I don't think is believe them! The sunken garden is spectacular. The variety of flowers, shrubs and trees was amazing. I loved the dahlias and the roses. The Japanese garden was so different and very peaceful. The price of admission per person seems really high at 38$ per adult but it's so beautiful. I would love to come back on a rainy day and I will definitely come back for Christmas. Restrooms: Clean and strategicly placed Picnic area: Some lovely areas for picnics
Beautiful Gardens. I took my In-Laws as it was where their Honeymoon was 30 years ago. Luckily the weather was amazing and most plants were in bloom. We loved the laid back park atmosphere throughout, and that there were many benches, bathrooms, and rest stops along the way. It makes it very family and all ages friendly. It is also pet friendly! It is a nice place to wander and get lost in. Aside from that, entrance fees were $38 per person, which is quite steep, but it allows for unlimited reentry on the day of. The Staff were also so friendly and helpful, often stopping to offer to take photos of you, or asking elderly if they needed any help etc. Overall a wonderful experience.
All I can say is that this place is incredible!!! The flowers, trees and landscaping are absolutely stunning! We walked around these gardens for about 4 hours and I feel like I could've definitely been there much longer. We also had a very nice lunch there right on the grounds. I highly recommend going here. You will not be disappointed!!!!
Beautiful gardens and a great place to visit. The entrance and parking experience was the most organized I've ever experienced. BC Ferries could learn a lot here.
These gardens were a dream come true trip! So happy to get to see them with my mom, who saw them when she was young. We're taking a lot of ideas and inspiration home! The triple tier of delicacies at the afternoon tea was fabulous. We made friends with a tiny bee, who loved the salmon and tuna sandwiches. We were impressed watching it try to carry more than its body weight in little pieces of food up to its home! If you don't swat at them, they don't go after you. Maybe a lesson for humans?
This is the best garden in BC. I consider this my zen place. A calming and relaxing place. The best time to come here is between mid spring to summer. All the flowers are in bloom. My favourite area is the rose garden. So beautiful and colourful. Unfortunately some of the restaurants were not open. They have an all year round theme. The Christmas time is quite a treat. Features 12 days of Christmas. The entrance fee is high but it’s so worth it. Your first visit may go towards an annual pass which is pretty decent. This is a must see if you visit Vancouver island.
Who would not like this place? All year round you can see the different beauty of this place and enjoy the high tea here with the million dollar view of the best location and landscapers’ hardworking result. No matter what you carry here, this place has the magic to open your heart and let you bring all the beauty and joy home with you. While you return home via highway or ferries, the nonstop coast view will continue to enhance your memory and joy. Love, joy, peace and health are all free from this experience. You should come, either you are happy or sad. This place is like a healing source for all your issues in the modern day’s life. You will be different here!
What a huge place, everything is so colorful! The fall colors blend so well with all the flowers and sculptures. We spent around 3 hours walking on the multiple thematic gardens with many delightful surprises at every corner. There are plenty rest stops if you need to take it slow, water stations for your thirst and most of the park is wheelchair accessible.
Absolutely loved our visit to Butchart Gardens! A dog friendly outing that many people took advantage of with running water into dog bowls throughout the gardens! Even though we were a bit early in the season for the rose gardens there were so many spring flowers and flowering trees that we were able to enjoy at this time of the year it was totally worth it. I wish we had booked seats in the Tea Room as it looked lovely but we were there on the Mother's Day weekend and a lot of people had the same idea.
