A lot of really good books and that's hard to come across nowadays. Everything is ebooks and all that or you can actually walk in there and look around and find a real book.
It's infuriating that some companies think that a Facebook Business page is a reasonable alternative to a proper website. It's not. Not everyone has or wants Facebook, and you're cutting off a substantial percentage of your potential clientele from accessing your services by not having an actual website. And if you DO have a website, don't tell me the URL in response to this review, simply update your Google Website hotlink to lead people to the website. It's not hard.
My 1st time in the new location. Good job! Well organized but may I suggest some improvements to the lighting? A few corners were really dark and it was hard to see the titles. Great selection though and the staff was very helpful.
I've been a customer of The Bookshelf for nearly 30 years and I've never had a bad experience. The staff are always friendly and helpful, the store always organized, clean, and well stocked. As its almost entirely a used bookstore, you won't find new releases and best sellers are often in and out quickly. For classics, old favorites, and books that were hot just a few weeks ago; you can count on finding something great to read. Books in lightly used condition are good for store credit I think its still 25% cover price, and books purchased there are always returnable under the same conditions. Definitely the local Mecca for avid, spendthrifty readers.
How did I not know of this place before, and I am sad I didn't. A veritable nerdvana of used books and and entire games store. Will for sure return to get more books each trip we make to Thunder Bay
best store for used books!! they ALSO carry neat games. I've been shopping here for 10+ years. pet friendly as well ::: i was allowed to bring my dog in while I perused the selection.

They had a pretty good selection and decent prices.
Used to use this place all the time for used books. But since the new owners took over about 20 years ago the place went downhill. The new owners arent very nice and dont have important information on new games nor do they have the games ready on the day the game was supposed to come out. Customer service definitely took a dive. The only nice person there is the nice elderly lady who seems to own the place. But wont go back.
A great store with wonderful staff. They have an extensive collection of books from all genres at good used prices. The attached gameshelf means they also have a good selection of game resource texts also.
