Halifax's first Board Game Cafe!

Story

The Board Room Game Cafe is the first cafe of its kind in the Maritimes! Located on Barrington St in Halifax, we are excited to bring this great new business to the HRM. Featuring a large Board Gaming area with a collection of 500+ games to play (teachers included!), The Board Room is a unique experience with espresso drinks, locally crafted beer and soda, tasty sandwiches, snacks and a retail area. For $5 per person (plus HST), you can play as many games as you like, and for regular gamers, we have our Vicinity Points loyalty program!

We are licensed, but minors are permitted any time of day! Though, we do ask that anyone under 14 is accompanied by a chaperone.

We take reservations over the phone only so please contact us at 902-423-7545 during operating hours (see information to the left) and we'll be happy to book you in!

So many great memories made here!! A wonderful and fun place for everyone. The menu is also SO good. Great selection of games and there's game bosses to help show you the rules!! You can also buy some of the games in store too.

I've been here several times and it's always been wonderful. The Gamemaster literally knows everything about every game. My friend refers to them as a game sommelier. The place is so clean and the snack menu is great.
Always awesome! The food and drink selection is great, the atmosphere is fun and the staff will always go the extra mile to make your experience better. I’ve been to many board game cafés and the Board Room has the biggest library of games I’ve ever seen, with great organization and game bosses to answer all your questions!
Amazing staff and service! If you don’t know what to play, ask for the game master! They introduced my friend and I to our new favourite game.
Really great place loved the food and drink they had for sale prices arby bad at all either. I also loved the fact that they allow you to play a borad game with Friends while waiting. Even better they have just about ever role-playing book that I know of my main focus being dungeons and dragons as well as pathfinder
