The Bistro by Liz is like being in France....while enjoying Halifax. I have been a patron since moving here in 1982. We lost this gem for a number of years. Liz has brought it back to its former charm with a fabulous menu, featuring many favorites from the original. I had Crepes Moroccan, they were even more wonderful than remembered. My friend had the Seafood Chowder, which was also amazing. A former Dal colleague, at a close-by table said the Beef Bourgogne is her favorite dish. The Shrimp dish was one just completed by the Chef...and just had to be photographed. Liz was on hand to say hello and chat. Her memory for guests is pretty fantastic. Highly recommended.
Beautiful atmosphere! I recently had brunch there with my mother and we had delicious food and great service! Was very impressed and I will highly recommend to all my family and friends!! I can't wait to go back!!
5 stars all around, this place has to have the best atmosphere of literally any restaurant in Halifax. Super cute, french vibes, always poppin with other people, and a very good place to go on a date. The food itself is also fire, I recommend their potato skins, fish and chips, and definitely their brunch offeringFood: 5/5
Le Bistro By Liz is an amazing Italian style cuisine. Delicious and flavourful. Definitely the beat arancini dish in town. The mussels were to die for. And the lamb dish wow the most tender and juicy meat you will taste. You get excellent treatment and feels very homie. Their cocktails are delicious an excellent place for a date night or a stop for lunch. Absolutely loved the place and Liz is always around to make sure you have an amazing experience.
Lovely venue. Staff all very welcoming and very warming. A good menu selection and a good wine list selection. Good quality was superb and the portion size just right. Good value for the quality provided me Well recommended.
Wonderful menu, reasonable prices, terrific service, great ambience, good wines. Just perfect. No wonder Liz has been going strong for so many years!
My husband and I love to go there. Le Bistro By Liz has definitely delicious food and very nice staff. The staff are very polite and kind; always with a big smile. Said that the atmosphere and the food results in a five stars restaurant.
Great location to go for brunch that offers a free Caesar, Bloody Mary, or mimosa with your meal. It was busy when we came in at 1 pm on Sunday. We got seated but it took over 30 minutes before a member of the party had to directly ask a waiter to check in on who our waiter was. After that though, the service for the rest of the meal was smooth. I ordered the croque monsieur that came with a side of potatoes. The food can be a bit salty for those that are salt sensitive, but it was good portions. Overall, would recommend for a place to grab brunch. Just sure to make a reservation for brunch as it can get busy on the weekends!
Had dinner for my girlfriends birthday today ate Bistro. Our server, Matt, was fantastic, super attentive, and friendly. We started with the Bruschetta and Caesar salad, the Bruschetta was phenomenal! For our mains I got the Jarret D'agneau Lamb and my girlfriend got the Filet de Boeuf Steak. Both of these dishes were cooked to perfection, and we the best of their kind that we've had in Halifax. I cannot overstate how well prepared the dishes were, exceptional. Our server Matt brought around a commentary dessert for my girlfriends birthday, the lemon parfait pie, which was delicious. The gesture was greatly appreciated. The atmosphere was cute and fun. An amazing experience, we'll be back for sure!
Great food, fantastic service and this restaurant represents Halifax very well.
