8/12/2022 stopped here for a quick bite to hold me over until dinner. It’s a small bar and gets filled up quick. They are dog friendly here. I sat at the bar and ordered oysters and a pretzel. The bar tender said they had the best oysters, they were local and delicious but weren’t the best I’ve had in ME. The pretzel was absolutely delicious!! I highly recommend stopping here for a drink and some food!
We’ve been to the Barnacle a few times — once on our last trip to Bar Harbor and twice this past trip. The oysters are phenomenal! They have bar seating and some individual tables. Dog friendly inside.
Just ate here! The drinks were amazing definitely recommend the Ghost Pepper margaritas and boozy blueberry lemonade! The oysters were super yummy, but I'm a big lover of seafood! The bartender was super kind and recommended other places to us! Would definitely visit again for the drinks!
A great change of pace from the t-shirt and souvenir shops, definitely stop in for a drink. The oysters were fantastic and as fresh as you can get! Beautiful wood built-ins and bar. High end bourbon selection and Cosmo, the charming bartender, will steer you right.
This is a simple bar that is a great spot for a pre-dinner cocktail and some exquisite oysters. Our bartender was excellent working alone to pour drinks, bus tables, and take was seemed like a never ending line of orders all without getting behind or making mistakes. A feature of this bar is the kombucha based cocktails. The oysters are based on what they can get that day.
Great spot to talk to locals and enjoy cocktails and beers. Great selection! Super friendly and attentive bartender. Did not get a chance to try the oysters since they were out but definitely would love to come back again.
Tiny oyster bar but totally worth a visit if you can squeeze in at the bar. The photos are exactly what you get and nothing more. The oysters are expensive but totally worth it. Best oysters we’ve had since Seattle. Highly recommended!
The food and drinks at The Barnacle were everything I hoped for during our last night in Bar Harbor! The quaint clean space, the jazzy music, and the the soft lighting created such a lovely ambiance for enjoying a drink or a few! in town. We said cheers to a wonderful week in Maine with our Allagash beers, fresh harbor oysters, and funny conversations with new friends.
Said to be the best oysters in Maine and they mean it. Incredible bar atmosphere curated with care and love of the sea. House made items served with oysters and craft beer or cocktails.
Strolling through Bar Harbor, we popped in for a drink and a snack. Instead, we stayed for a half dozen oysters, a mussel pot, a Maine Red Hot not pictured, and multiple drinks. Bar tender was very attentive and friendly. The quaint and cozy spot was well worth the stop and additional time spent enjoying local seafood and beers. With plenty of options for food in Bar Harbor, I would recommend going out of your way to stop by and have at least a half dozen oysters, a Maine Red Hot, and a local craft beer. I would make this a regular stop when visiting Bar Harbor in the future.
