Great spot for affordable and delicious food. The Cajun fries are the best I've ever had. Wings were great. My friend said her quesadilla was fantastic, and it was huge. Our server was great. He actually had a personality. Will be back for sure.
Hidden gem in this menu is the nacho poutine, excellent. Chips are crispy & tasty on their own, then add your gravy, cheese curds, onions, Jalapeño and sour cream, it's definitely shareable.
Chicken BLT was tasty and the poutine was too. Beer and wine selection left no complaints. Service was good too! I will be back. Convenient location for my hotel on the same road.
I organized a surprise birthday celebration for my wife here, early in December; and we had a fabulous event with around 40 guests including children of all ages, after about 10 cancellations. Chef Sunil and his team went out of their way to help at every stage of my planning, and to ensure that things were good on the evening. We had a custom menu with full bar service at The Social Bar and Grill the entire restaurant was reserved for us for the evening, and the waitstaff was tireless in ensuring that all of our friends were well taken care of. The food turned out beyond delicious, and our friends were full of praise for every item served - from the appetizers right through to the desserts. Some of the appetizers and desserts were served in elegant individual portions - which made for a very classy buffet setup. Another function, with a plated dinner service, was being held at the same time in the hotel's hall; but the kitchen and waitstaff handled both quite well - being very efficient and happy to help. This is a relatively new establishment, and it will only get better as the team acquires more experience. Jaspreet the GM at the Four Points by Sheraton, Sherwood Park - to which this restaurant is attached; Chef Sunil; Brydan the Sales and Catering Coordinator , and some of their Facilities team members were out helping me with AV on the eve of our function; and our slideshow was finally run on Chef Sunil's own laptop. This is a great example of the length to which the team will go to help. We will not hesitate to host another event at The Social Bar and Grill, because we know Jaspreet; Sunil; and Brydan and their team will take great care of us.
We ate here last week. We live in the area so wanted to try a place we had never been. Don’t waste your time. The only very good item we ordered were the Cajun fries as an appetizer. On the menu it indicates maple glazed salmon with butter vegetables. The meal was so bland, it’s like they took a chunk of salmon and just sprinkled pepper on it. We even mentioned the lack of maple glaze to the waitress, she said the maple was inside. Duh No! They couldn’t even get the rice correct, it was clumpy. What kind of cook cannot make decent rice? I did try to contact the restaurant via their webpage, got zero response. Waste of time and money eating at this place.
Cajun fries are no joke. But the staff are horrible. Bored, lazy, unaccomadating and dislike service jobs. I would not recommend.
I had the poutine nachos and salt and pepper wings with 70 acres beer!! It was really good, service was awesome and I highly recommend.Food: 5/5
I had dinner at the Bankhead this weekend. Ordered a few of the happy hour items to share, the fish tacos, fried pickles and for something healthy a salad to go along with all of it. Fried pickles were some of the best I've had, crisp coating, lots of flavor. The salad, okay I know its a salad, but it had complex flavors. I didn't think the strawberries and peppers would taste good together with the raspberry vinaigrette but it was perfectly balanced. Veronica provided great service. I'm looking forward to trying more items on the menu next time.
I don’t think this place has been open long. So this review might reflect a newer restaurant. The menu and menu boards advertise Local Craft Beer. Waitress didn’t know which craft beers they had. 1 craft beer on draft and 2 in cans. Hardly a craft beer selection. Ordered the fish tacos which were just ok. The fish was a deep fried popcorn fish style with too much lettuce. I will say the homemade hot sauce was really good; a cross between Louisiana hot sauce and Valentino’s hot sauce. Yum Won’t be back soon. I’ll give them a bit of time to develop systems and try again.
I tried the Arabic Four Course and I loved it!. The falafel served for starter was delicate and I loved the smoky sensation of paprika. And the main attraction was the Kabsa which was so delicious. All the flavours were intact and in harmony. The chicken and rice was perfectly cooked and well balanced. There was a slight acidic touch of the lemon that added to the overall outcome which was superb!. The dessert was flavoured with orange and pistachios which indeed helped create a soothing feel and a happy appetite. All the staffs were so helpful and welcoming and I loved it!.
