Lots of reminders for the appointment to test for insect allergy. Arrived early; signed notice stating that doctor visit would be virtual, what? After about 20 minutes including in the clinic private room, nurse informs me that they can't do the test that day due to the fact that the doctor was a virtual visit that day.nnI asked them if the fact I was in for a particular test noted on my file, to which she looked and said yes. Extremely confused as to why they would book me in for a date they can't help me for, I took the day off work and drove half an hour and the doctor chooses to work remote?nnShe gives me an iPad and a doctor on a Telus Health screen lets me know he can get me a requisition for bloodwork that I can take to a diagnostic place. Visit was about a minute, and a complete waste of time. This was on October 10, 2024.
My treatment is still ongoing, but I must write about the excellent service of nurse Justine, who has been managing my injection treatment. She knew what to do when my body reacted to the strongest weekly dosages and encouraged me to keep going. We made it past that rough spot and are down to easier monthly injections. I highly appreciate Justine, she is a gem. Overall, the clinic staff are friendly and I never have to wait long at appointments.
The doctor listens, is thoughtful and considerate and able to diagnose very well… the nurses and front end staff are so very busy and yet so very kind and helpful. They explain things well and are eager to provide a smile and kindness. Nurse Justine is a true gem, gives great health advice - such a beautiful person inside and out - & lots of fun! Health is a made up of multiple factors and human kindness and community gives this clinic a very healthy-based grounding. You are sure to get great care here & it would not hurt, if we can manage it, to enter the place with a similar grounding ourselves as patients!. Well done The Allergy Clinic. Thank you
Doctor saw me once for 5 minutes. They try to force you to come to their office for weekly injections. Also had to go on a second round of serum costing me another $350 and another year of my time. They make you buy all 4 vials of serum at once and they are only good for one year. 4th vial is not required until 9-10 months into treatment. Causing me to purchase three rounds of serum and $750. Show up for annual review with the doctor and informed once here it is a virtual appointment. They are not about patients care and all about the money. Plus in a shady area of town, I worry about my vehicle when parked.
I’ve always found the staff here to be incredibly friendly and professional. However, I’ve encountered some issues that have led to delays and inefficiencies. For example, during my recent visit, I think no one told the nurse I had arrived and my treatment wasn’t ready on time. Clearer communication about wait times and streamlined processes would be helpful.
