Love the hotel! The rooms were a throw-back to the 70's, but so cool. I gave 4Stars because it was very loud, and it sounded as if our neighbors were coming in our room. The service was fantastic! Danya, evening front desk person, was so helpful in her food reviews and things to do in Nelson. She is an invaluable asset to your business. The chocolate cookie smell that permeated the hallway was divine! The location was perfect! We walked easily if a town built on a hill is an easy walk to all restaurants, shops, anything we needed. In the 60 hours we were there, we ate in 10 different places, all within a few minutes walk. We will be returning!!!
Overall, it's a great concept for a hotel, and I want to give it 5 stars. So many things are done well, but for one super key element: the beds I will get to it. It's a historic building that has been updated beautifully and is in a great location. Super great location! Everything Nelson has to offer is within walking distance. The staff is friendly, the rooms clean. The bedding consists of duvets, which is lovely because you know they're cleaned each visit. The towels are good too. Bring your own toiletries - only soap, shampoo and conditioner are supplied. The rooms are small but for us that's okay because we're not in the room for anything but sleeping. The walls are super thin. If your neighbour snores or has a conversation or whatever, you WILL be a part of it. Be prepared and grab ear plugs from the front desk. Don't miss going to Louie's for amazing steak and great service and Empire for delicious coffee. You WILL wake up to amazing smells from Empire wafting into your room, which made us ravenous each morning.nBut... and this is a big but, if you are middle-aged and are used to a certain level of comfort, this is probably not the place for you. The bed we had was ultra firm. So firm that we joked that the floor might have more give. Also, room service did not clean our floor daily. It's laminate flooring with no rug, so after 3 days the floor was pretty sandy and stuck to our feet, even with leaving our shoes at the door. They came in took our garbage everyday, but that was the extent of housekeeping.nOverall, it's a great property. We are just not the demographic to enjoy it. We're off to book massage appointments.
Super friendly staff. Need more towels, no problem, locked yourself out of your room, no problem. Front desk staff was knowledgeable about the area. Good service in both the bar and restaurant. The hotel itself is old but well maintained. I have stayed in nicer hotels, but it's great for the price.
We stayed here for one night on our road trip across southern BC and it was perfect for our family of 4 and two fur babies!! Our room was clean and well cooled. We were walking distance to many restaurants, coffee shops and shopping. We enjoyed a long walk, geocaching and my husband went mountain biking by riding 2k to the trail heads. We were able to make a simple breakfast with the communal toaster and kettle and I was even able to get a strength workout in their small gym. The front desk staff were super friendly and helpful, making us a dinner reservation and giving our dogs a treat!! We would stay again for sure.nDate of stay: Aug 4-5, 2024
I never leave reviews, but this was bad. The website for Adventure Hotel says “Spend your days doing activities and then relax back at our comfy hotel for a dinner/drink and a good night’s sleep.” This is not the case. The karaoke bar is directly below the rooms. It is louder in our room than in the lobby of the hotel. Do not stay here. Find somewhere else.
