Location is fantastic few steps to save on food and Walmart strip mall facing the lakes.. walkway by the lake and walk to gyro park. Staff super helpful. We stay on ground floor facing the train track and the lake but the sound didn’t bother us. It is a heritage building but everything is clean. Price is right and location fantastic
Worst sleep I have ever had at a hotel. Stayed on the ground floor and was woken up every hour by the guest access door at the end of the hallway slamming closed. Our door didn't seal when closed, so there was no soundproofing.nNot sure if every room on the ground floor is as noisy as ours was, but that was awful.nCan't believe I paid over $200 for that stay. I don't usually leave poor reviews, be we expressed our displeasure to guest services and they did nothing to address our complaints.
The staff are very friendly and efficient. Our room was on the main floor in the back and we had a nice deck to sit outside and have our coffee and relax. The room was very nice and clean and nicely furnished. Our bed was very comfortable. Instead of having a fridge we had a wine cooler. The parking is very tight in the front and back. There’s a little mall in walking distance with a Walmart and Shoppers. There is also a nice walk along the river to a park. The worst part is a train goes right by the inn but thankfully not during the night. We saw it twice over the 2 days that we were there.
The location was very easy to find, and the beds are comfy and clean. Close walking distance to the mall, downtown, and restaurants/shops.nYou will be given ear plugs, as the train tracks are directly behind the hotel. Noise level is quite loud, as you can hear people walking above you and doors slamming.nOnly real complaint I have is that the front staff disappeared after 8pm, and there wasn't a bell at the front desk. We watched several patrons just standing around looking for assistance. We told them you had to knock on their back door and someone would come out to help them. After the staff member helped the patron, she disappeared into the back room again, and slammed the door shut. She obviously did not look like she was enjoying her job, and it was very unprofessional of her to keep slamming the door and not properly watching the front desk.
This was a lovely, quiet and clean hotel. Easy walk to the boardwalk along the Kotenai river. The staff was very courteous and helpful. I would definitely recommend for those traveling through Nelson.
