WHEN AN UNEXPECTED FIND TURNS INTO A PLEASANT SURPRISE. This review is based solely on my experience and personal opinion. I went to the Thai Fresh Gardens restaurant on a Thursday Night, 12/2/21, and it was my very first time. PLACE: That night I was very tired and sleepy but yet I forced myself to go out and find a nice place to eat. I eventually decided to join my friends and go explore La Grande on a very cold night. We parked our car and started walking and while strolling around we spotted the unusual golden elephant statues standing in front of a building entrance. We decided to get in and follow the signs to this Thai Fresh Gardens we had just seen on the entrance glass door. We went down the stairs and all of a sudden it was like we had just stepped into a different world... a world of its own... a sort of underground world, welcomed by a fountain and a narrow path going all around a elf-like village. on the sides of the path many display windows, many doors and many pretty decoration. I felt like I was walking around a Christmas village.... such a pleasant feeling. At some point, along the path, you can see a big open room with a long table and fabric Art frames.... then medieval style windows and then a Caribbean tree with colorful parrots and pretty birds. We had just found the Thai Fresh Gardens restaurant.....what a pleasant surprise. FOOD: We ordered Thai Fresh Gardens Fresh rice, Yellow Curry, Crispy Chicken Pad Thai, Thai Vegetable Egg Roll, Broccoli and Meat and Tom Yam Soup. All of our meals were tasty and well prepared. I loved the fresh ingredients and the combination of sweet and bitter. I tried each and every of our orders and my favorite was the Thai fresh gardens fried rice, and in second place the Thai Vegetable Egg Roll with Tofu. I did really enjoy them. Just remember, this is no fast food restaurant, so you have to wait for them too prepare and cook your food, regardless of what you order. CLEANLINESS: The overall cleanliness was very good and they would come and clean the table as soon as the customers left. STAFF: The young girl who served us was nice and helpful, friendly I would say. She took photos of us, She explained the Menu for us and did her best to meet our needs. Very customer oriented person. Less friendly and customer oriented was her mother, who, in all truth, could not understand English very well. PRICES: not as cheap as you would expect from a restaurant in La Grande OR, but it's the only Ethnic food restaurant in town, also portions are big and flavors are there, so, it is worth the money. CONCLUSIONS: I genuinely enjoyed it and I would definitely go back again. very positive customer experience and a very good vibe.
This is a very good place, extremely clean, fun to look at and the food is amazing. I was passing by from Utah to Beaverton and wanted to eat. I have never that This town has this kind of Thai restaurant. I'm happy I found it. Will comeback when in this area again
A lovely place to eat! I love their curry. They also have a peanut sauce entree I can't recall the name that's served over veggies that I loved! My husband is super picky when it comes to a sweet and sour sauce, but really enjoyed the one that came with the crab rangoon.Food: 5/5
I think this is the best food in Eastern Oregon. Everything I have tried is superb. My favorites include the Thai Basil Duck, Tom Kha soup, and Crystallized Ginger. I try to time my travel around the times they are open for lunch and dinner. Five and a half stars.
Stopped for a quick lunch to go, pretty place, but the avacado wraps were missing the bean sprouts, cilantro, and rice noodles as detailed on the menu. Very expensive dish with all those missing ingredients.Food: 2/5
If you have to go to La Grande, do yourself a favor and check out the Thai Spring Gardens and Sushi restaurant ... a hidden gem we had a heck of a time finding, but so worth the search. The building it is housed under is of architectural and historical significance with numerous little boutiques, an espresso shop, bakery ... all in all, totally cool experience. Oh, the food? Really, really, really good. The best egg flower soup I've ever had and both my spicy basil chicken and his orange chicken simply to die for. Thumbs and toes, UP. Can't wait to go back.
One visit so far. It's only been open three months but so far very clean. Service was fast and with a smile. I think the That Tea was a little bitter, but try it still and you be the judge. I had chicken pad Thai, heat was a two and spicy as planned. Wife had beef pad Thai, heat was a one, wife said it was very lacking in flavor. price was a little high for a lunch but they said on the weekend the lunch menu read: better prices are not in effect. Bottom line we will try it again, never again at lunch time, and wife won't get Pad Thai.
Fianally Great Fresh Thai Food In LaGrande!!! Apparently this restuarant has been here for over a year now and I just recently found out about it. The food is great and the staff is very friendly. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants a fresh alternative to the existing restaurants of this type in LaGrande. The prices are affordable and the portions are generous. The decor is absolutely amazing. A very relaxing place to have a nice lunch or dinner.
This restaurant is underground and is really fascinating to look at and explore the underground market. It’s unfortunate they lost their sushi chef but their food besides sushi is pretty tasty. I personally wasn’t a huge fan of the teriyaki chicken but the Pad Thai is good.
Found this place to be friendly and was pleasantly suprised to find this place in a small town. Was looking for a healthy option beside fast food. Owner was super nice and chatted with me while I ordered my food to go. Was nice to know the food was authentic. Place was a little hard for me to find as I was not a local but I did manage to find it. The food was amazing and fresh i would eat here again when i come back. I would recommend this place to anyone traveling through this little town. The staff is friendly. I ordered the chicken curry and fried spring rolls DELICIOUS. Highly recommend. Thank you for the chat...
