The Terrace Inn is one of those rare places you'll stay at in present day. They've kept that old charm it had back in the day. If you're expecting a trouble free, quiet modern place, you may be disappointed. My first stay I was unhappy because I had become used to very modern places. I have learned now to seek a better, more roomy shower, and 1st floor. There is no elevator, multiple floors, and some rooms the shower is very small, and short. I've since taken my wife to stay, and she fell in love with it too. It is a pleasant change from the modern cookie cutter places we normally stay at. Takes you back in time. The staff here is 2nd to none. Extremely friendly, very helpful and open to nearly any requests. With a spine injury, I sleep sitting, the chair in my room I found uncomfortable, they brought another chair in, and I had not slept better! The food is also good, everything I have eaten here has been really good, some things different than how I've traditionally seen them made, but as with the rooms, I'm open to different. The chef and crew is great.

Absolutely adorable, restored inn. Decor is great and the owners have done a wonderful job maintaining the feel of the early 20th century. Staff was extremely friendly. Breakfast was really nice and hearty, especially good before a long day on the slopes. Only bad thing is that the walls are so paper thin that they may as well not exist. Had to ask housekeeping to move the beds away from walls because any movement made it sound like the walls were going to break down. Can hear any TV or conversation from the other side. Not good for light sleepers.

A very nice old hotel. The rooms are all different. I have stayed here twice, once during a motorcycle trip and once passing through with my wife. On the stay with my wife we had a suite and it was a large room and very nice. The beds are good quality and comfortable. A good place to stay if you enjoy, as I do, the feeling of a vintage building. I indulged in cocktails during both stays and they were well made and very good. We ate in the 1911 restaunt when I stayed with my wife and the food was excellent. All in all a good experience and a great place to stay.

This is a great piece of historical landmark and destination location. Although it's hidden away from things it's what makes it's magical find when you first pull up to it. If you are expecting modern amenities, this is not the place for you!

This is our 6th time here and stay 2 nights. The rooms have always been decorated so nice for the era it portrays. Our king bed in 314 was very comfortable and I stayed in the whirlpool bath for almost an hr. I saw that they were putting another memory foam bed down the hall today. Going to consider that room next time . Belinda was very polite and stayed up for us till we arrived here at 9:45 last night. I love visiting the area and is well worth the 3 hr drive here. Dinner reservations at the 1911 restaurant was a 5 star also. The 3 course walleye was incredible with live dinner music. This place gets better every time we stay here. WE WILL be back again.*****
