Recommend this place. Interesting history as an old railroad depot. Great decor. Good service. Clean. Friendly service. Giant portions. My husband ordered 1 pancake and it seriously was the size of a large dinner plate. I ordered an omelet and it could have easily fed 2 very hungry people. The omlet was stuffed with their slow roasted brisket. It was melt in your mouth tender.
Food was OK. Service on the other hand was VERY slow. We were told that it was busy earlier and we would have a 20 minute wait while they wiped a table. They seem to only want to cater to the locals.
Atmosphere, good food, easy to get to, on the snowmobile trail and in town. Friendly. Just went here again and do often. This is a must place to eat. Year after year. Count on a great experience.
My wife and I stopped for dinner during our bike trip. We just happened to stop and take a chance on this restaurant . We were pleasantly impressed by the friendliness of the staff, notably Amanda and Alex. Our food was served quickly for a Friday night. My wife had the prime rib which was a generous portion. And I had the Cajun chicken. They were both presented very well and both dishes were delicious. We would definitely go back and would highly recommend.
Did not care for my food. The corn beef hash was over spiced, dry and the eggs were under cooked. The plate was warm but so was the food, not hot. The server was nice just not terrible efficient. Only table there and waited too long for our food. Had to ask for refills on our beverages.
This old train depot turned restaurant has always been a good stop. The place is very welcoming and pleasant. I ordered the breakfast special a BLT omelette. It was fantastic. The person i was with also got an omelette and she stated hers was excellent also. The service was very good and friendly. Overall a 5 star experience. Would I return? Yes I would.
Just stopped for a bite with our crew of 9. Food was great {eggs Benedict was awesome! , staff was warm and frienly and the restaurant was very clean. Very impressive to see all the staff getting ready for the next day. You can tell there is a lot of pride in the Alanson Depot. Highly recommend and we'll be back!
I had the eggs Benedict and they were perfect. Hash browns were a nice golden brown. My husband had the brisket omelette and said it was delicious. Krista, the bartender, made a mean bloody mary and was a great server as well to our family. All the staff was very courteous.
Great atmosphere and great food. The staff was awesome and friendly. We were suggested the prime rib, but they ran out right before we ordered. Luckily all their food is great. The chili is amazing and the buffalo chicken dip was great as well. Definitely a place to visit if you're in the area. We will be back on our next visit to Michigan.
I had the breakfast skillet. I don't even like to go out for breakfast, being more of a lunch person, but I would eat this for every meal. It was that good. Plus the service was very good and the restaurant is located in an historic train depot and decorated with old railroad memorabilia.
