Good food, cheap beer and large portions. Wouldn’t say it’s the best Mexican food I’ve had and my rice straight-up tasted like bad oil/grease. Probably a once off mistake and I’m willing to give it another go. I would recommend this place if you’re looking to fill your guts up with meat/tortillas/beans/rice/chesse/beer Mariachi band every week too, go shake your maracas!
A fun casual Mexican spot in North Van. The vegetarian/vegan taco menu had lots of options, and everything was super flavourful! I’m not usually one to order a blended margarita… but it’s definitely the thing to have here! Super yummy. Can’t wait to come back.
Great prices, amazing food and even better margaritas! Mango and strawberry were phenomenal; we would return strictly for the great service if not anything else.. visited before closing on a birthday night and server went out of her way to make the visit special!!
Ordered 4 different tacos: pork, beef, fish and bean. Flour tortilla was pretty bland; the meat and taco itself were quite dry. Plus the amount of sauce on the side was just ridiculous. Note that guac came with chips, so for tacos you only get red sauce. Don’t think I’ll order again
I love this place. We have been there last night. They have Mariachi on Friday nights. It was amazing. We all loved the food, the ambience, service and everything. Daniela was a great host and managed our table amazingly.
The place was pretty empty when we were there. We had Nacos and a couple Modelos. Not the best nachos I've had, but quite good. Service was just slow enough that when we wondered what was taking so long, the food arrived.
My partner and I loved this Mexican restaurant. We stopped by to order takeout. While we waited we were serenaded by a mariachi band. Its was romantic.
I'm from Southern California and I'm spoiled when it comes to Mexican food, SO I was REALLY surprised at how good the food and the service was at Tequila Cocina! Also had the best margarita I've ever had!
I did not find what I was looking for, as a Mexican you try places that take you back to the food you were used to and this place does not achieve its objective. Small and expensive tacos. The Taco al pastor is good, and the tortilla soup is not bad but I also found it expensive 12.90. Taco supremo de Lengua almost 7 CAD. Heads up! Prices are different between QR menu cheaper and printed menu!!! Obviously you pay the highest! I had to leave the Pollo con Mole taco intact, the taste was awful.
The mango margaritas are a must-try! Spectacular service and amazing food, no matter what you order off of the extensive menu. Always a good time, Happy Hour or otherwise! I highly recommend Tequila Cocina.
