I have never experienced more crooked employees than what I've seen at this bank. I had to close my account there. On one occurrence, I was paid $100 (by cheque) for some work I had done. After about a week, the bank pulled $100 from my account, saying that the cheque had bounced. This put me in an overdraft position (extra fees, etc). When I checked with the person that gave me the cheque, he said it never bounced. The bank claims that the cheque had bounced and that I needed to take it up with the person that issued the cheque. I never did get the cash, or the (supposedly bounced) cheque back. Because I never got the bad cheque back, I suspect that the teller involved made it look like the cheque had bounced and pocketed the $100, and had somehow covered it up. Another time, I deposited $12k into my account. Over a space of a few weeks, I had spent/withdrawn about 8k of it. One day, I went in and tried to withdraw some $, and was told my account was at a zero balance. At the time, we (my gf and I) were going through some legal issues that partially involved this bank, and we notified our lawyer. He (and the people at the law courts) investigated, and told us that one of the tellers and the manager had stolen the cash. They were both charged and fired, but I never got my money back. The teller involved ripped off hundreds more from my gf's account, also. I was so upset that I went to the local newspaper and told them about it, but they never published this information. So far I have never gotten this cash back. All I could do was to close my account. This happened about 2yrs ago, so I don't think I'll ever see this money again. I had another experience with the TD branch at Garden City in Winnipeg, that cost me $1000, but that's another story. I obviously don't deal with TD bank any more.
