Growing up in Okemos, this place has been a timeless favorite. As much as I like Ice Cream, I am grateful that my parents kept me away from this place, aside from a couple special occasions. Now that I am older, I try to exhibit self control, but my love for ice cream is hard to keep in check. I was driving back from Grand Rapids and decided to meet a friend here for an ice cream cone. Vanilla Soft serve is my go to and all-time favorite. SO, What did I do? I didn’t get distracted by all of the fun flurry flavors, banana splits, and hard packed options they had. Instead, I ordered a plain ol’ medium vanilla soft serve. When she handed me the cone I was surprised by how large the medium was. She certainly did not skimp on the ice cream. I like to bite my ice cream, and Tasty Twist ice cream had a nice firm creaminess that made it enjoyable with nice mouth feel. If you’re a “licker” I have no doubt you’d experience a similar sensation. But, make no mistake, this ice cream is no where near the quality of the classic Vermont Creemee. After a while, I did find the outer edges of the ice cream to start melting around the cone abnormally fast so consider that along with how quickly you eat your ice cream when selecting a size. Or, you just may end up with ice cream dripping on your shoes and sticky hands. The best way to describe my experience was like that of a McDonald’s ice cream cone but, bigger and a little better. All in all, this is a great place for a cold summer treat.
A historic staple of E. Lansing. Some of the best soft serve deserts, and much more. If you are just visiting, or recently moved here, it would be understandable if you didn’t know the name “Tasty Twist”. Today is a wonderful time to experience some of the best ice cream you’ve ever had with the family.
I got 2 scoops of ice cream one mint chocolate chip, one superman and they were both really good! I like to get my ice cream on a cone and I am happy to say it was not stale like some other ice cream places ive been to. The workers seem chill lol not overly friendly but not mean either. The inside of the building isn't super attractive It could use a sprucing up. I will be back on another hot day for sure!
AMAZING!!! They had blue moon soft serve! They even had butterscotch dip for the cones. The kids size was an appropriate amount of ice cream and they were great priced!
Always great. Favorite ice cream around and I enjoy keeping an eye out for the weekly flavor.
Can't say enough good about this East Lansing treasure! If you want delicious ice cream this is the place. Trust me... Just Do It!

It's on campus, so in a busy area. The store is pretty small, but the people working were super sweet.
This ice cream shop is my favorite place for ice cream anywhere. When I am in Michigan, I have to stop at Tasty Twist at least once.
Love the icecream! But you guys have to get much better at your portion consistency. I just got this Large and it's more than half empty. Usually I get a large and it's almost completely full. The thing that bothers me is the inconsistency. You never know what size you're actually going to get. I'll definitely be back though.
