Visiting Innisfil this weekend and ordered takeout from here for dinner tonight. Service both over the phone and in person was excellent and the staff very friendly. The food was piping hot and smelt wonderful. Portion size was generous. I ordered the Steak Pasta and the flavour combination was absolutely delicious. The steak had some kick but partnered with the creamy pasta it was a perfect pairing and the flavours were awesome. Definitely recommend!
The vibes are real! Michelle, our server, was very polite and accommodating. We got the complementary chicken soup which was hot and flavourful. We ordered fried plantain, small ox tail and large jerk chicken with rice and peas and coleslaw. First things first, this is a real authentic Jamaican food. My dinner companion who is Jamaican and knows the difference between Jamaican food made well and food made in a hurry exclaimed that this is indeed the real McCoy and I agree wholeheartedly. Coleslaw was really good, although I do wish I had more of it, I wasn’t left hungry. Rice is flavourful AF! i haven’t had this good of rice and peas in a while. It really did hit the spot. Jerk chicken was really good. Spice level perfect, cooked to perfection. Ox tail was delicious and fell apart in your mouth.. cooked with love. Plantain was also good although I felt the portion could be bigger but again we weren’t left hungry. Most importantly my tummy feels so good after eating here. One love. I get it.. good food doesn’t cost the same as it did 2-3 years ago but let’s face it, it’s just something you have to deal with considering the rising prices of running a restaurant business. Yes it’s a shock to most people who haven’t figured out a way to double their income almost overnight but having said that paying $60 for 2 meals, an appetizer and 2 beers isn’t that much of a shock if you’ve been to other restaurants. The ambiance in the restaurant is very pleasant. I would highly recommend this place to anyone craving quality food and service and will be back with more friends to show my support to this amazing hidden gem . PS: me being a very environmentally conscious person I requested cutlery to avoid using single use plastics and was provided with such without any issues so if you want something just ask, most people would be happy to accommodate your requests. Containers were biodegradable.
From the moment I stepped into the parking lot I was impressed, and the entire experience only went up from there. It's not often that the owners greet you at the door and strike up conversation but seeing Georgette and Jason's passion was simply inspiring. The drinks were amazing. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was a work of art itself. Everything was intentional and unique and reminiscent of the Caribbean we know and love. Wishing you all the success in your venture.
What a lovely surprise this Jamaican restaurant is! Run by a friendly and kind family using what I can imagine are family recipes, it's like getting a taste of Jamaica without leaving Canada. The jerk chicken is really tasty, with a spice kick that warms the back of your throat, but doesn't blow out your taste buds. It's served with what I would call Jamaican rice, a tasty rice mix featuring kidney beans and a lovely mix of spices. If you don't like spicy food, I strongly recommend the grilled steak that one of the owners told me they make by marinating the meat for 2 days before serving! Just the scent from the plate was enough to entice! We also ordered the plantains and a dish called "festival", which is like a fried beignet. Both are really good - in fact we ended up ordering a few more festivals to go! I was told by one regular that this restaurant makes food with love. It really shows in the food my wife and I had. A must stop restaurant if you're in the Innisfill-Barrie area.
We did a big order for our family of 5. Everyone was pleased & happy with the food! The flavours were just amazing! We will be back to support this new & unique local restaurant!
Loved it! Everything our table ordered was cooked to perfection. The menu offers a diverse culinary experience which I think this area could really benefit from. The atmosphere is fun and friendly. The staff will provide the best recommendations so no need to be intimated if it’s your first time trying food. I’ve dined in, called for take out twice and most definitely plan on visiting again as soon as I can. Don’t listen to the one star haters - most of them haven’t eaten at the restaurant or even live in the county :/
Food was excellent. One of the best jerk chicken meals we ever had. Owner and staff were very friendly and welcoming. Patio is really nice. Only issues would be serving size and we would have enjoyed meal more if it was on a plate. We were dining in and ate out of a take-out box. Overall an excellent restaurant. We will return.
Not only is this place right by the lake, the food was amazing with such great flavours! We had jerk chicken and curry chicken with rice and peas and some plantain. Yum! The owners are a lovely family and obviously extremely passionate about the delicious food they are serving. They also really seem to care very much about their patrons' experience. We will definitely be back. Can't wait for the patio to open.
My good friend brought me here for the first time and I am absolutely OBSESSED!! not only do they have authentic Jamaican food but the atmosphere, staff & owners are so amazing. Everything I have ordered on this menu was fresh & absolutely incredible tasting. Very affordable for what you get. Highly recommend. You will not be disappointed..
One of the most authentic Jamaican food that my grandmother would approve! The jerk chicken was juicy with the right amount of seasoning - not too hot! And the size of the dish was well portioned for the price. I strongly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a restaurant with tasty dishes. I will be definitely back!!! Parking: Easily acceptable parking
