Taqueria Traspasada

I was excited to try the famous black salsa as it had been recommended several times by others in the neighborhood. It was smoky and really good! The second time we went, it did seem a little spicier. Their tacos are really great! Margarita and Michelada were good too! They bring soup with your lunch or dinner as well, which is a nice touch and the service is good.

Ate here for the first time after their interior remodel. Delicious pozole rojo and shrimp soup! We will be coming dining in here often. And the black salsa is amazing and you must try it.

The food they have is the best Mexican Food place in town. It's the REAL food ... better tortillas, bigger portions, And food comes out fast. It has a large dining area too. There's another location on N Ashland Ave too. Three blocks from Wrigley Field! Their prices are good you can’t complain with how big each serving is. I tried their flad which is good too it’s like a pie. I had their tacos which are delicious!!! Definitely going back! Kid-friendliness: It’s a calm quiet restaurant in a good location. Perfect for the family.

Came in with a couple of friends and had great service since the moment we walked in! Greeted with excellent customer service and our food was delicious thank you!!! Delicious dessert’s as well!!!

Traspasada is the best! Their black salsa tops everything perfectly. They make quality tacos, enchiladas, tortas, the works! Don't forget to include a nice tip. Everyone is working hard and the food is delicious!

Was fairly surprised at how good this place was even after checking out the reviews. Nice eclectic mix of tacos available, including brisket which I don’t always see. Torta was delicious and the black salsa was top notch. Good service, clean environment, delicious food and located on a busy corner but still ample parking. Highly recommend.

One of my favorite restaurants that I return to again and again! The black salsa is the best salsa ever - an absolute must-try for any Chicagoan. Their veggie tacos are tasty and satisfying. Very few places can claim the title authentic. This place nails it! They start you out with the traditional Mexican soup. If you know you know and yes it's just like grandma use to make. This is the place where you eat a real dish not just tacos. Be adventurous here and you won't be disappointed as you can taste how everything was prepared today not from a can or instant. Don't take my word for it the place speaks for itself. For me, I'll be a regular now.
