I've been wanting to go this restaurant even when they were back at their old location, now that I've been, I'm mad at myself for not coming sooner! The food is wonderful, had the asada, pastor and carnitas tacos with some sour cream. Everything was delicious. The mole was yummy, so was the guac. The free tortilla chips with salsa was just perfect. Our server was super friendly and efficient. All in all a very homey, fun experience. You really get the authentic Mexico vibe. The pricing is decent too. The location is both a pro and a con. Con because it's in the ghetto part of surrey, but pro because you won't have a problem parking. Will definitely be coming back and trying more of the menu.
This is likely the best place for your taco cravings in Surrey. I never would have though I would live so close to an amazing taco place. Staff was super friendly and we actually got our tacos quickly. Price was reasonable and if anything it might actually be cheap for how great the tacos were. I'd say all the tacos were tried yesterday were absolutely delicious. They also have a lot more options for their tacos that most other places. Their pastor and chorizo are likely our favs with the birrias coming in really close. One small note was just their chips were super salty. Maybe ask for them not to salt it they give you an order of these for free as far as i know I wish we'd found this place sooner!
Had the tacos for lunch today. Extremely flavorful, authentic and delicious. Highly recommend to anyone craving Mexican food. Will definitely be back.
The food was great and so was the service. Love the fact that I can order in Spanish because all the servers speak Spanish and English. Will definitely be going back!
We visited December 16, 2022 and had tacos and molcajete el jalisco. Casual place, and though the location is a little dicey, the parking was easy and the food was excellent. Best Mexican restaurant in Surrey, in my opinion.
Delicious Tacos!!!! I have finally found my favorite place near home for when I am craving Tacos, they are all with good tasty flavors, I was very pleased on the portions usually places are light but not this place which is a plus for me, I will be telling everyone I know that if they want good Mexican food go to Taqueria Jalisco Restaurant!!
Very Salty, flavorless, Super Expensive, small portions, rude and careless waitress, meat too chewy, chicken to dry. Had Molcajete el jalisco barria soup and Bistek a la MexiMexican steakwhich was traded to the chicken n rice plate. The soup was extremely salty, so salt I wanted to send it back. The meat pieces in the soup were over boiled and bland that didnt matter though cause the soup was super salty. The bistek was so chewy it felt like I was chewing on a tire. I asked to get it switch to a cut less cooked like medium rare instead of overly well done. The waitress told me she was going to charge me double for that? I mentioned that it wasn't my fault the meat was super chewy to the point of having to spit it out like a piece of gum. She than sent me the Mangager who asked if I wanted to change it to chicken. I said in order for me to enjoy my meal seemed like I didn't have a chose. So my final conclusion is this, their barria salt soup has over cooked meat that is fllavorless due to the salt. The steak is tough as hell. Their chicken is dry dry dry. No flavor. The tortillas came half raw not even soft enough to roll but hard enough to break and crack. When I was going go pay I asked for my bill, the cashier quickly punched in her price and wanted me to pay the bill first, when I said I wanted the bill before I paid she was bother and asked me if I wanted the bill before I paid. I said yes. She tried to make me pay for the steak I returned and exchanged for the chicken and try telling me I had to pay for it. She than went to the back and knocked of $3 of my bill. She should have done so when they traded me the over cooked tough steak to an overly dry chicken. And to add insult to injury I was charged $2 for a take away plate. I asked why she didn't tell me it was a $2 charge for a disposable plate she said "everyone does this and they all charge $2". Extremely disappointed. Every second, every bite, the poor attitude waitress who was trying to scam me, which she did at the end. If I can suggestion a Taqueria place it would be Taqueria Playa Tropical in New westminster. For $60 I would have been happy and had more to eat and friendly waitresses. To the manager of this place, sorry but maybe I came on a bad day and all ur cook forgot how to cook and your waitress is either really rude or hates her job.
So good you don't have to go to Mexico if you can go to this place. These chilaquiles were unique and really yummy. Horchata was a bit sweet so maybe ask for ice cubes
1 got 2 tacos, one birria and one chorizo and one enchiladas entree. The food was good it has lots of flavour, but the chicken in the enchiladas and the rice was super dry. The chorizo was pretty bland. But the 2 free salsas were delicious and spicy. The service was a bit slow despite being the only customer. I'll give this place another try soon, hopefully it'll be better!
SOOO glad they reopened! I missed the old location on Grosvenor so much after they closed. These guys make the best authentic tacos and Mexican food in Surrey. The meat is always juicy and extremely flavourful. I could eat these for the rest of my life and never get tired of them. Living in Canada, good Mexican restaurants are nowhere near as common here as they are just across the border. So having a place like in my hometown is awesome.
