Food: There is 50% discount for Ramen during weekday lunchtime till 4pm, which is very good deal. Though the portion is small, the taste esp. broth is good enough. Skewers taste really good.nnService: Staff is ok.nnAtmosphere: We were there during peak hours, so we have to share table bar table with others. However, as the seats are at window side, the dining environment is still nice.
Loved the food and atmosphere of this place in my first try. Spicy crunch sushi and Red Ramen was my favourite, really loved the flavour and taste. Tempura prawns in comparison were very average and could have been better. Would recommend this place for someone looking for good Japanese food.
Tansen Izakaya has a nice ambiance and a good selection of dishes. The food is generally tasty, though some items can be hit or miss in terms of flavor and portion size. The service is decent, but there can be a wait during busy times. Overall, it's a reasonable option if you're looking for a casual izakaya experience.
Good ambiance and the appetizers are amazing . Thanks Gwen for making some great suggestions of sushis especially the unagi and crunchy roll and helping us celebrate my Moms birthday with a delightful cake . We really enjoyed the sushi and the red broth ramen. I would give the food a 5 but my miso ramen and marriage were just ok. In addition, the wagyu didn’t taste as flavourful and wasn’t large as we were expecting but everything else was great.
I’ve been to this place so many times pretty sure the staff know me by now, lol. Honestly, I think they have the cheapest ramen in Edmonton – just $5 a bowl during lunch hours! I usually go for the Goma Ramen, and I pair it with Ika Geso fried octopus, soooo good or Kushiyaki chicken thigh skewers. Everything’s super tasty and crazy affordable – 100% a must-try!
