Ignore anyone who might have something negative to say about this place. This restaurant is incredible! Everything we ordered just hit the spot. Exceptional flavors and truly comforting, especially for a colder Victoria/Sidney day. We had the Kadai Chicken and Lamb Korma accompanied with naan bread. So, so good! Generous servings with kind service staff too… this place is a community gem! Don’t miss out and thank you for a great meal!
Came across this restaurant when I was in Sidney. Ordered Chana Tikki/Samosa. It was an average experiece. Samosa was good, tikki was not. Could barely see any yogurt and chutney in the plate, so less quantity. Masala tea was good. One server was good and another was in a bad mood it seems. They need to update their timings, as the restaurant was closed around 3pm.
This is a restaurant we have been eating at since it opened in Sidney several years ago. We would go for their buffet lunches about once a week and since the pandemic have opted for Take Out every week. We love Indian food, have eaten at Indian restaurants in many N American cities and in the UK and would rate this restaurant near the top. The staff are invariably polite, kind and helpful, a delight to chat with. The chef is first rate and when he returned to India briefly this summer we missed the consistency, perfect seasoning and special interest of his dishes. He deserves much credit for the delicious food he creates every day. Please ensure that he never leaves! Vegetarian options: My partner and I are both vegetarians and are delighted with all the choices Indian food in general and this restaurant in particular offer to those of us and our numbers are growing who don't each meat. We are grateful.
The food was good, and we were served relatively quickly, authentic taste as well, ambiance was so so and the tables were tight, we felt a little congested while sitting. The restaurant lost one star as the floor was very dirty and would suggest regular cleanup after your guests leave. Room for improvement is there, and I hope you will get 5 stars next time.
Very disappointed with this restaurant. I ordered take-out online and when I went to pick it up and pay for it, I noticed that $4.72 had been added to the total as a tip. I didn't add a tip to the total when I ordered online and the server insisted she couldn't or wouldn't remove the charge that had been added without my consent. Watch your bill for unauthorized charges. Needless to say, I won't be going back.
I find it’s very hit or miss. I’ve had excellent food and also not very good food. Staff has always been pleasant when I pickup my order. It is a bit expensive, but the portion sizes are fairy generous.
This brand new Restaurant just opened in Sidney BC, this was my first time here too! They had the spiciest food I’ve ever tasted ! It might also be because I told the waitress that I wanted the spiciest dish ! After I tried the dish, I kept blowing my nose for the next 15 minutes. But I still loved the spiciness, especially when it comes to curry lamb or beef ! If you’re passing by Sidney downtown, this is the place you can give a try if you want some amazing spicy food! The price might a bit higher, but when you are in the mood, who really cares about the price anyway?
Great place! Really enjoyed the meal. Excellent flavors and good portions. Will be back for sure!
Good and real authentic Indian food and service with a smile. We had the lunch buffet for $14 which is very good value. I did not give the 5th star because the Restaurant is lacking the Indian ambiance.
We went to Tandori Flavour in Sidney on a Sunday, in late May around 6 pm. As we approached the entrance to the restaurant, we saw a wooden pallet with loose garbage by the front door. There was a handwritten notice on the front door stating the restaurant was closed, but the lights were on and we could see a couple of people inside. This first impression was not very encouraging. The restaurant was fairly empty. There was only a couple waiting for their take-out order. We asked the lady at the front desk whether we could sit at a table by the window but she said No. We had to sit at a table by the front door that was already set up. Shortly after, an East Indian couple came in and asked for the same table, and the young lady immediately set up that table for them. Unfortunately our experience went downhill from that point. I ordered the vegetable biryani and my husband ordered chicken vindaloo. When the waitress asked how hot we would like our food, we said we would like it mild. However, she told my husband they could not make chicken vindaloo mild, so he had to settle for butter chicken. Although the servings were generous, and the butter chicken was tasty, the vegetable biryani was inedible. The vegetables consisted of big chunks of zucchini and a couple of sad-looking pieces of cauliflower. The dish had an unpleasant taste, I could not identify, and the rice did not taste freshly cooked. However, when I voiced my dissatisfaction to the young lady at the front desk, she was gracious, apologized profusely and did not charge us for the biryani. We have mixed feelings about this restaurant, and I am not sure whether we will try it again. I must say they do a brisk take-out business. While we were waiting for our food, we counted at least half a dozen customers leaving with large take-out orders.
