I was here Aug 2022, trials were a little overgrown and there was a tree down blocking the path. In the mid-afternoon, I saw someone clearing the trail with a loader and they got the tree cleared and some more trail opened up. Grassy trails that clearly don't get a lot of use, but they were fun riding. I spent a couple hours here. Most trails seemed to dead-end, they aren't marked well but still fun riding.
First time going here. Only so many places to ride in iowa. They have a small racetrack type area at the front that is fun for younger riders. You can camp there which is nice. Campground area has few trees so not much in terms of shade on a hot summer day. The trails are mostly down by the river. They all connect which makes it nice in terms of not getting lost. If it rains anytime in the days before you go it will be extremely muddy. If you can't catch this place when its more dry you will have fun.
After seeing it listed on the DNR website we drove from Des Moines only to find it unmaintained and unusable. Trails completely overgrown. Hopefully it will be improved in the future.
Fun time out. Good trails for go carts, atvs, side by sides. A few muddy areas and big ruts here and there. I'd recommend not going alone and bring a tow rope! 11 yr old on a go cart did very well once he figured out how to not get stuck. Nice scenery, too.
Needs maintained better instead of people making new trails around fallen limbs and ruts from their annual 4x4 ride. Went one day last month and ended up having 8 flat tires plugged all 4 and had 3 got new holes and my friend had one.we did not go off trails I'm from Tama and I'd rather make the trip somewhere else and spend my money and time in their county! Also the "tracks" are no more one is just a huge pile of dirt and the other is rundown.
First time there I got 2 flat tires and my friend got 4 flats. Large punctures. All from the same spot. Someone may have boobytrapped the trail. We never left the trail or crossed any property lines. Will not be back.
Park was nice and quiet, decent trails! Could have a lot of potential if it was better maintained and the perimeter trail was marked! A lot of trees down on inner trail and huge ruts!
This place is good for quads and side by side. Lots of mud and four wheeler trails. The peewee track is nice, but there is no motocross track.
Do not go to this park. It’s a mess. Weeds branches nothing is trimmed back.
Fun park if your looking to get muddy
