Atmosphere: Dainty, bright, clean. Not loud at all. Service: Sufficient for the space, attentive. Food: Came promptly. Nice selection of fish. Fresh tasting. Melt in your mouth. Priced for the location but is not $$, more $$$ If you’re looking for a decent sushi restaurant in White Rock, this would be it.
This is a great place to get real sushi made directly in front of you. Great food, great customer service, and great ambient. They definitely pay attention to detail. The restaurant is located in White Rock, there is plenty of parking available and it's easily reachable.
The attention to detail is always appreciated here but it seems like they have new staff which is being trained as they go. The ingredients are fresh and special menu selections are generally worth a try. Aside from seafood selections, the Foie Gras was acceptable but not out of this world. Be aware that you are there to relax and enjoy. The entire meal will take some time so if you don't have an hour, you are not going to get the whole meal experience.
We are sushi lovers! This place is next level! They took extra care of my gluten-free needs and have an excellent specialty menu! You have to try the seared Aburi Foie Gras and the Aburi Super White, our new favourite sushi place!
Walked in for Omakase. The front desk didn’t make it clear that walk-in is different from the regular omakase experience. Didn’t let us seat at the sushi bar. The sashimi tastes okay but is not so fresh. All sushi was served at the same time. Rice is cold and salty. My friend have food poisoning afterwards. Definitely not worth $200 per person. Don’t waste your money here.
Food is fresh with good quality, servers always provide decent recommendations base on their special menu and what’s best at the season. Probably the best sashimi I’ve ever had in great Vancouver area.
Really high quality sushi here. We got 4 rolls: Taka's Fire, spicy tuna, spicy scallop, and poached salmon. They were really good and the freshness and flavor of the fish and scallops really shined through even with the sauces. I also tried the salmon nigiri and it was amazing. It comes with soy sauce brushed on so no soy sauce dipping is needed. The salmon tasted so fresh and clean. The only one I probably won't order again is the poached salmon. While the taste was fine, the texture reminded me of canned tuna which to me isn't ideal for a sushi roll. It looks like they're know for their aburi so I'll have to come back and try that.
Best sushi in the lower mainland if you're looking for high-quality sushi. You can also pick the cheaper roll options if you are not looking to splurge.
Stopped by for lunch before driving back to Seattle. Their fish were all very fresh at a good price point. The friend that took us there loves this place.
The sushi is the best in town but they can be a little slow. Ordered takeout for a 630 pickup and 45 minutes later still waiting. Owner did offer a full refund and a gift card but I declined because I’d rather just pay for my food. Anyways worth the wait but if you’re very hungry like I am then be prepared. I got home and there were four pieces of extra sushi, a bottle of Saki and a $50 gift card. Fantastic service and delicious sushi.
