Tadoussac hostel

Ok it is an hostel but still it does mean that it has to be dirty.... Too bad because the house could have been nice, a lot of potential inside. We slept in the bungalow house, the mattress was terrible (but at least it was quite) or other friends slept in the main house (they could not sleep too noisy). We shared the bathroom, it was dirty... because apparently they were missing some staff...(I mean young volunteers who do not feel responsible at all) Regarding the breakfast, the owner told us we will have pancakes, and it was starting at 7 am. We had to leave at 7.30 am for the whales, at 7.15 am, there were flies in the kitchen but anyone from the staff who should have prepared the breakfast. Actually, we paid 4.50 CAD for just a cup of tea that we made ourselves. Maybe I am too old or not enough free spirit for travelling like that but I do not recommend this place.

We took the kayak tour the hostel provides (it leaves from the same spot as Mer et Monde). The tour was very nice, we saw mink whales from close by. The tour guide spoke English and French and German, gave us good introductions and safety recommendations and you could tell he loved the nature he showed us. He also made sure we did not disturb the whales by moving too close to them. The price is a bit lower than with Mer et Monde and there is no need to actually stay at the hostel to participate.

Campground was great for what it was (I didn't sleep in the hostel). Kitchen was dirty and staff were kind of rude.
