Since our doors first opened in 1954, Canadian families have been coming back to Swiss Chalet generation after generation. Our rotisserie ovens only accept fresh (never frozen), grain-fed, Canadian Grade A chickens, because quality is all we know. So what will it be? A Quarter Chicken with fries?

If you like going to a restaurant owned by someone that dicrimanates against the disabled then this is the place for you. After 20 years of my wife Anne working for them at the other Surrey store including the last day of them being open working from open til night, the new owner had given my wife on that very day her walking papers even though she was promised a position at new store by management. She was told it was in the best interests and would not have a position for her even though she trained everyone in the restaurant. They all had jobs at new store but not her. This has still to this day affected her deeply. So enjoy your Swiss. She has MS and still worked 6 days a week sometimes 7.

The host working last night (Wednesday Dec 27th) was dressed and acting as if she was working bottle service at a night club as opposed to a host at a family restaurant. She had an attitude problem, and looked at my wife like she wanted to fight when we entered the lobby. Instead of being greeted with a warm hello, she looked my wife up and down and waited for us to greet her and let her know we needed a table for 2 adults and 2 kids. The host said nothing, made no effort to engage us and walked us over to our table awkwardly. The service after we sat down was good, and everything came fairly quick and we had no real complaints about the food expect that the chicken was a little dry and the ribs were a little overcooked, and the kids dessert wasn't as advertised. While eating, my wife noted the host and her made eye contact a few times and my wife smiled at her only to get dirty look back, and the same thing happened as we were leaving. Instead of a thank you and goodbye, she got a dirty look from the host. I have no idea if the girl was having a bad day or what was going on but I noticed her attitude immediately and when your paying $70 for a family meal you certainly don't expect to be dealing with a host with an attitude problem. This is the first time we've felt the need to leave a 1 star review for a restaurant but its apparent to us by the huge amount of 1 star reviews that this location has problems that need to be addressed. We obviously wont be back.

Very diverse new festive menu for the holiday season. They now serve roast beef and also surf and turf, both of which were delicious. The staff was very friendly and the service was great. I will definitely be coming here again in the near future. The place was very clean including the bathrooms. 5 stars!

Of course our family's favorite place to eat after church on Sunday. It's open early enough for Sunday lunch /dinner. Our favorite dish is the 1/4 chicken dark meat with 1/4ribs and fries with a must have for us the Chalet sauce. We love it. Very satisfying. Try them out sometime.

I pick up lunch here 2-3 times a week because I do enjoy the chicken. For the fourth time in the past three weeks when I go to the takeout area to buy lunch there is nobody to take my order. There is a loud buzzer on the entry door and there are always staff in the kitchen. There is also bell that I ring usually more than once and still get no answer. I have even gone behind the counter and called to the staff and always ignored. Today one staff member yelled to me that she would be just a minute. I left after waiting a full five minutes. It's too bad, as I previously mentioned, I enjoy the food. Unfortunately I won't be back again.....
