Great food and service but a major issue with the layout or just the heater. My experience, I rushed my meal it was uncomfortably cold. Partly due to the high traffic dual restaurant dining area and lack of separation from the door and seating area. Food and service was great. Everyone else in the dining area had their outdoor coats on.
We don’t get the opportunity to visit Swiss chalet often but yesterday in Gander we did and it was a horrible experience. I ordered a half chicken warm up deal and barely got a burnt up chicken leg, a bread bun that had to be a week old and stale. The potato soup was simply flavoured water and even the Cesar salad was disgusting. The lettuce was rotten, 4 croutons and no Parmesan cheese… People, save your money and bypass Gander…
Never been so disappointed with a Swiss chalet Worst I have been too. Food was ice cold. Salad was brown lettuce and smallest portion I have ever had. Looked all slapped together. Won’t be going to this location ever again

This was my first time eating at this Swiss Chalet in Gander. Very friendly service and the food was just what I needed on a brisk December night. You can never go wrong with the quarter chicken dinner! Drop in for a meal and enjoy the quaint and cozy atmosphere!
Came here and had the beef sandwich. Didn’t realize there was horse radish on it and ended up not eating it. The lovely waitress came down and offered to make me a new one without the horse radish. Was an awesome experience.
The Swiss Haley in gander nl was the worst for food the food was very salty the fries were burnt the gravy was watery and the Pepsi was flat not one server checked to see how your meal was or if everything was ok this is one restaurant that I would never come back toRecommended dishesChicken Dinners
Our family would like to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation to the outstanding staff and management at Swiss Chalet Gander. Heather, Donald and Angie and the rest of the staff are exceptional representatives of this restaurant company. Our son has anaphylactic allergies to dairy and nuts, and Swiss Chalet’s excellent allergy program means it’s the ONLY restaurant we know about that he can safely eat at in Canada. On our first visit about a month ago, the staff accommodated over our 30 hockey players and parents with less than 2 hours notice, allowing our son to safely eat in a restaurant with his hockey team for the 1st time ever. Our server Heather and manager Don were exceptional and attentive hosts, and our family and team were sincerely grateful. On our 2nd visit yesterday, we were lucky to be served by Heather again, and she remembered our son’s allergy AND HIS ORDER from over a month ago! We are so impressed and thankful to these wonderful people for their outstanding professionalism and incredible customer service. The food was, as always, excellent and the service was authentic, genuine, and first rate. We highly recommend the Gander Swiss Chalet/Harvey’s; exceptional people should be recognized and celebrated for the value they add to their patrons and their company. My son said he doesn’t remember his first Swiss Chalet meal, but that he will never forget this meal, because of the service. Thank you from us all.
Great food, good service
The white meat was very dry so I figured I got chicken that was left in warmers so I decided to go back the next day an hour after they opened and the same experience white meat was dry again.This was at the Gander NL location.
