Who is Swimming Matters?
Kris Hildebrand launched Swimming Matters in August 1998. Kris hired his sister Danielle Chernhoski to be the manager and his mother Vicki Hildebrand as an employee. However in January of 2002 Kris realized that retail was not for him. Danielle and Vicki decided to go into partnership together and took over the store in March of 2002.
Why did we open?
As a long time member of the aquatic community (Kris Hildebrand, the son of Vicki and sister of Danielle, was a competitive swimmer, water polo player, and swim coach) Kris had great difficulty finding necessary equipment. He often drove all around Winnipeg looking for goggles, suits, and equipment, and usually ended up purchasing most necessities from The States and even overseas. He believed that Winnipeg should have their own swim shop. So… Swimming Matters was born.

What we offer?
All registered swim team members receive 20% off the retail price. 5% of all these purchases is donated to the members club for equipment purchases, when the team makes a purchase from Swimming Matters through out the year. We will also try to meet any competitor’s prices. We will also do our best to track down any special items you may want or need.
