Sweet Thea
"We are serving our favorite local roasted coffee - 49th Parallel - and bring in fresh baked goods from the Sweet Thea Bakery every day. Sweet Thea is a 'scratch' bakery - traditional baked goods hand-made with real butter and locally sourced ingredients.Sorry - we cannot accept pre-orders, due to the high volume of ferry traffic.w"

I stopped here before my ferry trip since the Tsawassen Quay market is easily walkable from the ferry terminal. By the looks of it, it was a much better choice than the cafe located in the terminal. I got a berry scone but was tempted by many of the baked goods and a London fog. The scone was fluffy and still a little warm from the oven and my London fog was made well with a good tea base. The baristas were nice too. We took our treats back to the terminal but there’s a bit of seating in the market too.
Got a latte here while waiting for the ferry, just terrible. They use decent beans, but pretty much everything else was just a disaster. Just left the milk sitting under the steamer until it was completely incinerated. Basically just a pile of cremated milk ashes poured into some coffee.
The coffee was just ok Americano/latte…it really wasn’t worth the cost of it. It reminded me of 2% Jazz - not a rich tasting coffee. Staff were friendly and the food/treats may have been good but we didn’t try any
Ordered a latte, they made a cappuccino. They did remake it but it wasn’t awesome. The veggie breakfast sandwich was awful and greasy. The gingerbread cookie was good. I’d personally avoid this place and choose from one of the many other places available.
Didn’t try any drinks, but the cookies are nice The choco lava cookie makes a lot of mess due to the icing but it tastes good - better for an adult with a sweet tooth than a kid you’ll need to clean up after
Unfortunately the quality of the coffee is not up to Parallel 49 standards. No micro foam in the cappuccino and way too hot. Burnt her tongue and my americano had little cream, was also way too hot. I think the baristas need some training.
Just got the gingerbread cookie and it was extremely hard, as if it had been there a while. Macarons were ok. Didn't try the coffee. The girl serving was not too bothered, chucked it all in a bag and didn't say a word handing it over. It wasn't busy either.
The management and hiring staff is so rude and petty, if I could I would post the conversation between the management and I. Passive aggressive for no reason, and shutting down willing applicants. Hiring personnel needs to get fired.
Excellent flat white. Great selection of treats. Had a double baked almond croissant and my wife had a sour cherry hand pie with BC grown cherries. Way way better then Starbucks at the other end.
Lots of local, custom made and diverse menu options. Reasonable prices on all items and a real contrast to the usually poor food options available
