Sweet Mary's

I was running out of time to order my son's first birthday cake as my first Baker had fallen through. So I looked at photos of a lot of places that were on hulafrog's Milford Shelton page and I really liked the photos of Sweet Mary's stuff. I had never been and I didn't have a ton of time to go drive out to New Haven to try them as again it's my son's first birthday so that would have been difficult coming from Ansonia with him. I decided to give it a go and hope for the best. I was absolutely not disappointed with the look of the cake. I sent her a photo of what I wanted and it looked exactly like it. The taste of the cake was unbelievable. It was light airy sweet but not too sweet absolutely perfect. As a baker myself I am very picky on cake. The one for Leo is mine the one Landon is the pic I sent her of what I wanted copied.

Omg she made the cake for my baby shower. It was a beach theme, I gave her a pic from something I loved online and she perfected the design. The cake was moist and the flavors were perfect! I highly recommend this bakery!

Too much of my heart's discontent I am fully aware that Sweet Mary's is no longer operating. I followed the shop on Facebook and was incredibly saddened by the news a couple of years back. Unfortunately, I got spoiled eating her cupcakes and cannot find anyone in the State of CT that comes close to how her cupcakes were made. The batter, the cream the perfection. These cupcakes were light, moist, fresh and the cream always just the right amount of sweet, never overly or under. Her cupcakes were just so darn amazing and I wish she would come back. Thank you for making those amazing edible works of art.

The delivery arrived early. That’s a plus. The slices of the cakes ordered were generous portions. The family thoroughly enjoyed the Tiramisu, Red Velvet Cake and Cheesecake. Mary, you are very sweet and delicious.

I ordered this cake from Overland Park, KS for my son's graduation. Missy is a complete delight to work with and was so reliable in getting back with me and patient while I tried to decide what I wanted. Upon arrival to New Haven, we were delighted with the cake. It was absolutely delicious - probably one of the best we have ever had, and beautifully done! Her shop is absolutely meticulous! Highly recommend.

The best cupcakes ever. Not dry like other places and the flavors are classic but different.

Sweet Mary's is the go-to bakery in New Haven for top-notch desserts. It may be pricey, but you get your money's worth. The cupcake selection is excellent and they're made perfectly. The cakes are great as well!

What a hidden gem! I ordered 20 packages of two cupcakes to give to some special people and everyone raved about how these were the best cupcakes ever and I agree. I declare all other cupcakes and wonderful bakery items off-limits unless they come from Sweet Mary's, there are that good.

Simply the best. Hands down the most creative cake artist in Connecticut. Ordered a 1st Birthday cake for my twins and it was perfection. If you are looking for a special cake this is the place, no contest.
