The online booking is great! Apparently the lake is good for fishing but you can't swim in it and it's not a "sit by the water" lake. The campsites don't provide any privacy but they are clean with a nice fire pit and picnic table, you have to bring your own firewood. The bathrooms and water are currently not recommended for use. One hint, if you choose site 1, there is fantastic shade on the other side of the hedge for most of the day and although it's close to the road there is very little traffic.
The Dam is pretty. Lots of day use areas. There is no park but there is an outhouse, tables and fire pits. If your a bird enthusiast by all means you will find many different cool birds! you absolutely 100 percent won't want to swim and there is no beach, but bringing a little fishing boat with oars will make your visit more pleasurable after you trudge it through the weeds to get it into the lake to give you some other activity other than sitting and getting bored. They call the dam a fishing dam, but we took out the boat with the fish finder 4 times and scouted looking for any sign of fish.... did not find even 1 on the radar. Last time it was stocked was April 2019.... so don't get your hopes up for a fish supper. If you plan to camp, there are 6 camping spots available side by side but make sure you like new neighbors closer then your neighbor in the city..... and less private with no fence or trees to devide you. There are no services so expect to hear your neighbors generator too! Adds to the ambiance also, we noticed the sign also said no tents only campers so be prepared there too, but this could be just covid and new signs have not been posted?
Very open little campground with no amenities beyond a bathroom. If you like fishing and quiet this one is for you.
Great place water is a little dirty but nice washrooms and sites. Quiet little get away.
Hope this stays open forever. Lovely spot. Great spot for a cookout.
