Swagat Indian Restaurant

Randomly found this spot when trying to find an Indian restaurant near by. First time here and had our expectations really low. However, it wasn’t bad at all and we recommend for a quick Indian fix! 4/5 stars for comparing it to similar quality Indian restaurants and not to high end restaurants. We got the lunch special $9.99 vegetarian and $10.99 for meat. See photo for what sides comes with the lunch set. Food took a good 10-15 mins and we absolutely had no issues with that. They had a few orders in front of us but we know it was fresh. Food was hot and didn’t taste like it was sitting there all day. *Note* if you’re not familiar with the restaurants in Surrey, there seems like there’s a Google Map restaurant review war going on. Ignore ALL reviewers with less than 5 reviews on their accounts and pay attention to the reviews they leave. Some restaurants have 1000-3000 5 star reviews by users with 3-5 reviews on their accounts. Completely fake reviews and it’s a shame Surrey Indian restaurants has came to this.

ordered thru skip the dishes. tandoori chicken was a little dry, butter chicken and vegetable korma was ok, and lastly we ordered vegetable biryani but got a lamb biryani instead were not complaining just saying

Naan was okay. Gobi pakoda and lassi were bad. Panneer chilly gravy was the worst. The gravy had so much food colouring, even soap-wash couldn't clean my hands. Never going back.

Food is ok. Their Chili Chicken is pretty good. They offer complimentary naan with curry dishes. however, they sometimes put too much oil in curry dishes.

Totally disappointed. I ordered malai chicken tikka and this is what they gave me. First of all this is not malai chicken tikka. Also th3 chicken is stale and they added lot of spice to hide it and not salt. Threw all of them. Stay away from ordering.

There online menu price is different, I ordered according to that and then they gave me a bill which was high in cost and gave me different menu, worry different price and said online is in process to update!! Very Lame excuse! If that's the thing they should tell customer when they call to order food!!

Goat curry is soooo good with not overwhelming spices. Definitely recommend if you are in the area. They have a wide range of selection.Food: 5/5

We ordered chole bhature and got chicken piece in it.We called and staff said come to show it's chicken or not. Really bad experience.

Ive order from here twice now. Got the butter chicken lunch special the first time. Food was very mediocre and specifically the basmati rice was pretty terrible, but you got a good amount for the dollars spent. Ordered a second time, made basmati at home, in order chicken korma. Considering other reviews of the prices were good, I assumed the $13.99 regular dish, would be equal to the standard sized take away dish. Like the typical round dishes you get with Chinese or something. And that the large, for $20.99 ! Would be even larger then the typical size. I tried asking on the phone the size difference between the large and the regular but the girl on the phone just wasn't listening to what I was saying. When I went to pick it up, she ' accidentally ' made me a large. So I paid $23 for a very regular sized dish, which is way more then most places, the Average cost these days for a dis $18. The chicken korma is very average, not terrible, but probably the least good I've ever had, and the most expensive. Don't recommend and don't think I'll be going back unfortunately

****important and warning**** If you want to eat the Indian food here, you have two options: Option 1 - call in and order takeout Option 2 - preorder the food half an hour in advance if you are going to dine in This was our first time here. We looked at the reviews on yelp and they looked legit. That was how we came here to try their Indian food. We got to the restaurant, sat down, ordered and waited for food. We waited for more than half an hour. Before we arrived, an Indian lady had been waiting for so long that her face turned black already I.e. she was very upset to wait for her takeout because of waiting for a super long time. I was going to rate this restaurant three stars before I tried it due to the slow pace of serving. My husband asked me to be patient and convinced me that the Indian food should be really good and it should be better than the ones we tried in Vancouver. Finally the food had arrived slowly and gradually!!!! Oh my god!!! The first dish of lamb curry and the second dish of palak paneer were really good. The chicken biryani and pulao rice were extraordinary that we had never had such good fried rice with many colourful ingredients and spices. The fragrance of each dish dispersed right in front of me. I was eating the most delicious Indian food in my life that I couldn’t compare it with the ones in Vancouver! The Indian food in Vancouver was not as good as this one in surrey; plus the ones in Vancouver cost more!! The roti and naan were freshly made. So good!!! The mango lassi was excellent as well! It was not cold. It was at room temperature, but it went well with the spicy Indian food! What a good combination!! There is parking outside the restaurant. The food was so good that I really wanna come back here and try other dishes.
