Sushi California - Surrey

Great food and fast service! We came here on a Saturday just past noon. Even though it was busy we still got our food pretty quick. Portion sizes of everything were great. We all had left overs still. The sushi was fresh and tasty. I ordered the tuna gomai, double spicy tuna roll, and Caterpillar roll. Delicious! I will definitely be coming back to try more.

A bit crowded when we came today but Covid-19 protocols are strictly implemented like social distancing and vaccination card with id card checking before entering. The staffs are very friendly and welcoming leading us to our seats. The food we ordered are served immediately when ready and they are all great tasting. The serving are larger and priced affordable. A good place to bring your family and friends. I love this place.

Decent sushi and Japanese food. Sushi and fish seemed to be average size and freshness. Friendly waiter and staff. Prices are quite a bit higher than what we are used to. Lot of $20+ items on the menu. Inflation and COVID, etc. I get it. But there are other sushi restaurants that aren’t charging as much that are comparable.

The food at this Sushi California was good and price is always reasonable. Their premium sashimi platter is awesome and their tempura is very good too. The reason I gave a 4 star is the renovation does not fit the name and compare to other Sushi California locations, this one is dated. I still recommend Sushi California. Fresh sushi with reasonable price.

The food is high quality, unique & some very traditional. Cool, big city atmosphere on a Friday early evening. Wait not nearly as long as you first think or they say. Told us 25-30 min wait. That's just a generalization they tell everyone. Was less than 10 min the text you when its ready. Highly recommended for the sushi lover & in Surrey.

Here we got Tuna and Salmon sashimi, Las Vegas roll, Caterpillar roll, French kiss roll. We loved it. Very clean, staff was very helpful and engaging, plastic dividers between the tables. We enjoyed it so much I would highly recommend it! And we will be going back.

One of our favourite cheap / quality sushi! We get take out all the time here. It is also a great spot to bring visitors who want vancouver sushi but don’t want to spend an arm and a leg!

Sushi cali would always be a go-to for my friends and family, and recently the prices hiked up a LOT. It would have been a 5-star review for how great the sushi is if it weren't for the drastic price change. There are other competitors that don't charge $20+ for 9 pieces of sashimi, or $15 for rolls labelled as special rolls. I'll miss coming here more often. Wheelchair accessibility: Because the middle section of the restaurant is a wooden bench, it might be hard for someone with a wheelchair to come dine in. Dietary restrictions: Some of the acronyms they use for ingredients aren't that commonly used. For example "sp" stands for spicy, but some people might not get that right away because some sushi will have the pepper icon but some won't but have a sauce with sp next to it.

The food was delicious and the portions were large. The only issue I had was how dark it was in there! But if your looking for a romantic atmosphere that's the place to go.Food: 4/5

Good ambiance. Our server Janiel was very attentive and personable. The portions are big and priced well. Will definitely go back.
