Super Loco

Had such a pleasant brunch experience. The restaurant itself is beautiful, inside of an old building in historical Old Montreal. The interior was really special, throughout my meal I found myself looking around enjoying the detail that went into the space. The service was really friendly and warm, our server was really nice and checked up on us multiple times. The food was delicious and very carefully put together, desserts were very nice as well. I would come back to Montreal just to eat here again.

The restaurant is beautiful, the decor, ambience, vibe and feel is really amazing. The service is excellent as well, the waiters are very friendly and very professional. As for the food, I tried appetizers and snacks, 5 of them though, like the major ones on the menu. The presentation is 5 stars, but and I must say they all taste just ok, nothing that will blow your mind or make you say wow!! When you count the price in for these plates, it is just not worth it for the food. So I ended up not ordering any mains thinking it would be the same.

The menu is small which makes it much easier to decide what to have. Food is good and flavourful, environment is cosy and If you like oysters try the “summer love” . It has a meat broth after taste to it and it’s something I had not experienced before. Our waitress Victoria was such a dynamic character you will instantly fall in love with. She moves gracefully in a tiny space and she is charming. Please book ahead for the weekend cause we were sent over from Barocco and lucked out. Totally recommended.

I tried all 3 empanadas. Carne had no flavour, missing salt and everything else. Chicken was even worst, but the vegetarian ended up in the garbage. Really bad, I was following everything on Instagram and I wanted to go and try it. But sadly it was a disappointment. I give two stars because the girl at the front was super nice.

I loved the atmosphere of this cozy establishment. There was attention to detail in every food & drink presentation. Delightful tastes! Make a reservation and be on time...they do warn you of the consequences.

Rating : 3.5 First the good : made reservations online. Very easy to do so. We were seated within a few minutes of us arriving. Very cute interior. Loved the vibe. It's cute and cozy. The attention to detail for allergies was excellent. The server made sure that she knew them all. The cook on the cod was very good. The tomatoes were perfection. Now the not so good. Very very very slow service. Granted the restaurant was almost to capacity, but 40 minutes for an appetizer is very slow. We ordered two appetizers.. Only one made it to the table. The lamb raviolis .. Were probably from two batches. One tasted exceptionally good. The other two were way too salty.

Generally good. Enjoyed the ambiance and we had good service. Disappointing that dishes on the menu are not marked as seasonal when they are not always available, of course the seasonality is fine but the information was lacking. Also a shame that there are also no local or even Canadian wines on the list.

Service was friendly but it all took so so long. We entered around 5:00 and left at 8:00. Everything was very salty, the lobster carbonara was so watery is wasn't a carbonara anymore. My cavatelli was ok. Just didn't enjoy all that sprinkled cheese on top. We wanted to order dessert but by the time we were brought the menu, we had waited 30 minutes and waiting any longer to order was just making us more tired. We waited 15 mins before someone came to take our dessert order which by then we asked for the bill which took another 15 mins. Might give it a second chance. Will update my review then if things get better.

The eggs Benedict, shakshuka and iced latte were spectacular at brunch! Service was very fast and friendly. Thank you, we will definitely be back! We are looking forward to trying the dinner menu.
