Although the hotel is a little dated it's a magical place. The staff were incredibly helpful and responsive when I asked to switch rooms to somewhere on the main floor. The rooms were very basic but comfortable. We rented a suite and a double occupancy room and found both clean and adequate. The kids loved the pool and greenery. The breakfast was so convenient for us. While simple it was definitely adequate. The seating areas placed around the hotel are fantastic people watching spots so you don't feel anchored to your room. We will absolutely return soon. Thanks for the great experience!
We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend stay at the Super 8. I can only imagine what it was like back in the early days when it opened! The kids loved the giant atrium and pool and spent the whole time swimming and playing hide and seek. The staff were very helpful and courteous when we asked to change room locations and the breakfast was decent. The kids and I hit the exercise room every morning and it was fully equipped for cardio and free weights.nMy one wish is that they would get those hot tubs running! That would make it perfect!
Rooms are a little dated but over the years I’m seeing improvement. We have stayed here the last 3 years and originally loved the pet friendliness of it and now our young toddler loves the pool and jungle. The humidity is a bonus too! We always get a suite and honestly the price is perfect for our family. Staff have always been helpful within their capacities :
I was very disappointed in this hotel. It has gone way down hill. Toilets flooded. We had fold up chairs for our table area. We switched rooms and that room stunk like throw up. Switched again and again the smell was awful. The hottub wasn't working and didn't even try the pool. I tried to get my money back because , we have a grandchild who is very sensitive to smell. But they said they would try. I got my statement and I was charged for it.nThe only good thing was the little package of Dove soap in a tiny box.nI recommend you book somewhere else.
Rooms were filthy. Floor hadn’t been vacuumed in who knows how long. Had to phone and have the bed changed. Marks and hair in the sheets. Asked them to clean the floors as well, but was never done. Coloured water came out of the bathtub tap. Woke up to a plugged toilet, and when we phoned the front desk, they said it would be 2 hrs before anyone would be by with a plunger. When we checked out, they said the toilet wasn’t a big issue because they had other bathrooms in the hotel. One of the “other” bathrooms had dried pee on the tile all around the toilet, and the same paper towel on the counters from the previous day. Had to pay full price. Never offered a thing. On the bright side, the Cougars game was great. Perhaps it’s because Super 8 management had nothing to do with it.
