At the beginning of this Spring while walking down Sherbrooke, I passed this store and decided to go in and take a look at their snacks since I was actually in need of some nuts to snack on. I had never been in there before and once I walked in, the two women behind the counter briefly looked up from their table, glanced at me coldly, and without a word went back to looking at whatever they were looking at. I decided to ignore it and proceeded to look around their store. After about two minutes of being in there, one of the women walked over to me and stood beside me. I assumed she was there to finally offer me assistance with her homemade snacks, but she did not say one word. Whenever I moved and walked down the aisle looking at their mixes, she moved silently with me still never saying one word to me. Living in a large Canadian city, you always offer the benefit of the doubt whenever you believe someone's being racist towards you, so I did just that. However, soon after, when a White lady walked into the store, the woman who was silently following me the entire time, having never once greeted me or asked me if I needed assistance, with a large and bright smile on her face loudly greeted the White woman who walked in exclaiming, "HI! How are you doing today?!" As if to say, finally someone worth my time has walked into my store! It was at that moment that I knew this store was owned by racists and that I was indeed being discriminated against, so I abruptly left the store nearly knocking into the White woman at the door as I rushed out. I could not believe that had just happened to me in my neighbourhood. I never bought anything and never returned. I hope this place tanks :. People like these women are not welcome in this city.
