Came for lunch. We love their Vegan Calamari fried oyster mushrooms and were happy to see it's still on the menu, which gets changed seasonally. The Harissa Turmeric Roasted Cauliflower was flavourful with a little kick. For $17 it is quite pricey for the amount you receive, however. We enjoyed their Vegan Mac and Cheese and Thai Red Curry Bowl. Very satisfied with our meal, and view while eating on the patio under a heat lamp, as the weather grows cooler. The price point is high, but we didn't mind spending for a special occasion, and most of their ingredients are locally sourced, including from their property. The mains are your best bet for value.
Came here for the scenery and because of reviews saying the food was great. Unfortunately it was very disappointing. There was basically no service here, and food was extremely overpriced; expect to not feel full. Costco pizza tasted a lot better than the dry kid’s cheese pizza too. Even if you’re here for the view, it simply isn’t worth it since you get it for free wandering the premises and tasting wine outside.
We were invited to my niece's wedding held at this winery. Beautiful lake front setting. Breathtaking sunset views. The venue was well organized and the dinner was served banquette style and was done efficiently.
Came here for lunch on a hot summer Kelowna day - had heard good things about the food so was quite anticipated. We ordered the pan seared scallops and the lacquered duck leg. The scallops were cooked quite nicely and the duck was pretty tender but basically sat on a bed of plain white rice with a few crisps the rice gets a bit oily from the duck sitting on it. You will not be full from the small portions they give - it is extremely overpriced for the amount they provide you. The view is spectacular - it is worth coming in to sit down and enjoy some wine or dessert while taking in the surroundings. I would come back for this reason and this is probably why the restaurant is so busy altogether. You might also get to watch a wedding while you are here.
Went for Afternoon Tea and wanted to love it but was very disappointed. This was my second time visiting Summerhill for Afternoon Tea, but first time experiencing this menu. The offering was unbalanced having too many desserts while lacking more savoury options like sandwiches. While this could be interpreted as a difference in preference, the bigger issue is that the quality of the food and presentation did not come close to justifying the cost. Additionally, all of our teas came out with lukewarm water that wouldn't steep. My first experience with Summerhill's Afternoon Tea was great, but the second time around really failed to meet the mark. Hopefully this was just an off day for them and it isn't a reflection of a structural problem.
Food was excellent although we had been warned off the duck breast and 3 had halibut and one tuna. Tiramasu was a bit dry. Menu choices are limited. Prices at the higher end for food and wine. Pyramid wines are good but maybe not so good value. Service was a bit slow to start but then met expectation. Server had a very good knowledge of their wines. Once the rain stopped the view added a great deal - the evening therefore met our expectation.
Beautiful place whether for wine tasting or dine in. Definitely recommend to book a reservation choice of patio or inside ahead of your visit, so you won't have to wait for a long period of time 'cuz it can get real busy.
Food was good but the wine is terrible! There were 7 of us with multiple dishes and wine pairings. Every single wine was barely drinkable. All were too sweet, lacking in depth and body. Good restaurant but an amateur winery. A long way to go to match other OK options. Spend your money elsewhere.
Really good food and very reasonable compared to some wineries - love the wine especially the rose Parking: Plenty of parking
When we arrived with a reservation we had to wait 10 minutes to be seated. While being walked to our table we heard servers behind the bar saying to each other how they needed to make us wait longer. It took about 10 minutes for a server to come, another 15 to come take a wine order, then after 20 minutes we had to catch another server to get ours to bring our wine. After 20 minutes they took our order, and we waited another 30 minutes to get our food. In the time while we waited for our food we watched a table of people inside sit, get wine, eat their food, and leave. I had the chimichurri cauliflower, and it was shockingly sweet for a main. We spent about 2 hours there mostly just waiting
