I’m so lucky I stopped by this Sunset Grill with my family! The service was great, they were very friendly and quick to help. I also liked how it wasn't dirty like the other diners I’ve been too so it made sitting there comfortable. I ordered an omelette with an extra order of home fries because my family could not keep their hands off them! Definitely would recommend going down felt just like home!
Came here for brunch with my 15 month old daughter, my mother and my sister and her 6 month old. Worst experience ever. We wanted to have a nice brunch experience but we were treated horribly from the second we got in. The waiter dark hair male and tall was so rude instantly. That’s never happened before to me anywhere. I’m 8 months pregnant and was carrying two high chair back and he didn’t think to offer any help. He didn’t say hello he just asked for how many. He rushed us into take an order before we sat down it take a little longer when you have a baby let alone two babies… I asked if they had cups with lids he said no . So what ever I shared my drink with my baby. When he was taking my moms food order he spoke over her. Made her feel uncomfortable. Then when we got our food, my sister and I ordered the eggs sunset and our eggs were fried. We both know an eggs Benny is poached eggs so I asked why we had fried eggs and he said some excuse and didn’t offer to fix that. I also asked for a glass of milk for my daughter and that took forever to come. And when he did bring it I asked for a small cup and he gave me the exact kind of cup I asked for my daughter in the beginning. So that was just annoying. It was just all around a really unwelcoming place. He really made me upset and uncomfortable. It felt like we got treated like we inconvenienced his life. I do not recommend this place. Kid-friendliness: Not at all
I ordered a breakfast wrap meal which clearly stated in the description it was served with home Fries, then again asked me to chose a side so I chose home fries and never received a thing, so I called to let them know and rather than helping me they pretty much told me I was wrong and that it does not come with the meal, so you are telling me I payed 14$ before tax for just a wrap? No meal nothing and the worker insists that it comes on the wrap. Which yes this wrap does have home fries on it but that does not change the fact that it is described as served with them as well as it giving you the option to chose a side. So you’re telling me if I chose a fruit salad u woulda put it on the wrap? I don’t think so
Fast efficent friendly staff reasonable price. The only thing was a slight oldish oily taste on the hashed potatoes. Nothing rancid though maybe the oil was getting refiltered. Everything was cooked properly to order.
Nice, comfortable atmosphere just like many of the other Sunset Grill restaurants. Our server was nice and ensured my coffee was always topped up. Our meals arrived quickly. 2 of 3 poached eggs were overdone. Home fries, scrambled eggs, pancakes and sausages were fine. We felt rushed to leave after our meal was done, but it was understandable as there was a lineup right out the door. Tip is to come early to beat the line up as we did.
Recently this place has gone down hill significantly. My wife and I used to order takeout every Saturday morning and have since stopped. The portions have significantly decreased, potatoes aren’t cooked the greatest and left rather hard. A few weeks ago we ordered the breakfast poutine, peameal was forgotten , and there was about a cup worth of food in the container. Today we decided to try again; we ordered the guacamole brunch sandwich and the new spinach and feta wrap. The guacamole brunch sandwich had a smear of guacamole on it similar to butter on toast, they didn’t have and sausage patties so we had to get bacon. The spinach and feta wrap had maybe 3 pieces of spinach and hardly any feta. Was just all egg whites and peppers. As per usual the potatoes were rather crunchy. On both meals they forgot the veggies and ranch which we actually look forward to. Two stars because the counter staff is always pleasant.
Sunset Grill Orillia is a staple for our families Sunday breakfast! Good food, fast service, decently priced. Mike is the best server ever!
I’ve recently been visiting Sunset Grill for breakfast and my experiences have always been great! Great customer service and good breakfast!
